7. lying & consequences

Dylan POV

I cried for what felt like hours I couldn't stop. Of course I waited until Ashton fell asleep. I snuck out into the living room and just sat there and cried.

I don't know what about. Maybe Calum? Colby? Jake? My wrist? Everything was just painful. I fell asleep crying on the couch. I was shaken awake. I opened my eyes.

"It's your big day!" Ashton said shaking me. "What?" I asked. It hit me. Today I was performing downtown. "Oh yeah" i said. "Id thought you'd be more excited" he said tilting his head. I shrugged.

I looked back on the couch. "don't u have practice or something?" I asked him. "Nope your stuck with me all day" he said laughing. I popped up "really?" I asked smiling. He nodded. I hugged him.

"Wait" said letting go. "Does that mean your coming to my show" I asked. "Of course, all the guys are too" he said smiling. Calum. Shit. No. I turned away from him. "Is that ok?" He asked.

"yeah it's great" I said getting up. "Dylan" he said. I turned back to him. "You never told me" he said getting up. "Told you what?" I asked playing dumb.

"Your wrist" he said. I rolled my eyes. "dyl-" "Ashton we have today! Let's enjoy it!" I said. "But I-" he tried. "Nope imma go get ready" I said walking away and right into the room. I closed the door and let out a sigh. I took out my phone.

shit. I don't think I told Ashton Jake was coming. I quickly got dressed and went out to see Ashton. I was about to say something when there was a knock at the door.

Ashton looked at me and then got up and answered the door. "Colby?" He asked. "Hey is Dylan here I really need to-" Colby saw me. "Dylan oh my gosh I'm so sorry I wasn't home. Jake told me what happened. Are you ok? Is your wrist ok?" He asked lifting my arm.

"yeah Colby I'm fine I-" I said. "Are you serious?" Ashton says. We both turn to him. "Ashton-" I started to say. "No Dylan if you don't-" he started to say.

"Ok ok!" I yell. "I-uh-um-what happened was uh" I started mumbling. "She shut her wrist in her car door" Colby stepped in. "Then why didn't you wanna tell me that?" He asked me. "because I was crying in the car before" I said quickly.

"Why were you crying?" Ashton asked me. "Because you are always gone" I said quietly. This lie was going too far. I wasn't lying about crying in the car because he was always gone I have done that before, but I couldn't bring myself to tell him that his best friend did this.

"Oh I'm so sorry baby" he said hugging me. When I hugged him I mouthed to Colby "thank you". He just nodded his head. "Today you have all of my attention" he said kissing my cheek. I nodded.

Colby cleared his throat. I went over and hugged Colby. "You owe me one" he whispered. Then he left. "Ok let's go" Ashton said grabbing his keys. "Where are we going?" I asked. "You'll see" he said smiling. I fake laughed.

We pulled up to one of the most expensive restaurants in la. "No no ashton no" I said as we pulled up. "Yes I'm making this up too you" he said. oh I feel bad.

I gulped. "No it's really ok ash" I said. "It's not" he said. We parked and he got out and opened the door for me. We walked inside and ate some and talked and laughed just like old times. It was nice.

Until the check came. I grabbed it and looked at it and choked on my water. I went for my purse to take out my credit card to pay my half. "Oh no you don't" Ashton said placing down his credit card. "Ashton this bill is really expensive let me pay half" I said.
