15. Lingerie & surprises

Dylan POV

"sadly to two love birds called it quits after only two weeks of being engaged, because dylan Henderson was seen at a hotel without her ring! Dashton is officially over" the news reporter said. I clicked off the tv. "I'm stupid. I'm stupid right?" I asked turning towards Devyn. "No, not stupid. Just in love" she smiled. "With a guy who has a girlfriend, god I'm a horrible person" I said putting my hand on my forehead. "I think I'm meant to be alone" I sighed.

"You'll never be alone you have me" she smiled. "On the bright side your birthday is coming up" she smiled. "Great" I said sarcastically. I've always hated my birthday ever since I was a little kid I've just never had a good time on my birthday. "Don't worry I'll make your birthday great this year" she smiled. "On my birthday I will be alone, at my apartment room eating my feelings away" I said. "No! We're gonna have fun" she said standing up. "You'll see" she smiled.

I woke up the next morning with a bunch of happy birthday texts from people I either don't even know or don't like at all and only a few from people I actually cared about. Surprisingly I didn't get one from Ashton . But was I expecting one? I did get one from Michael though. I quickly started texting people back saying thank you then I stopped when i saw webber pop up on my screen. The text read:

happy birthday dyl! can't wait to celebrate with one of my best friends.

well just stab me in the heart why don't ya? friend zone x100. This sucks usually I'm the one friend zoning. I replied anyway.

I smiled and turned off my phone. How can he make me smile when I'm not even with him? I hopped in the shower and then got dressed. I was sitting on my couch when I heard my door bell ring. i got up and answered it. Jake was standing there with a smile on his face. "come on lets go have fun on your birthday" he said grabbing my arm which sent chills up my arm. He took me to his car. "where are we going?" i finally ask. He smiled. "you'll see" he said looking at me.

We ended up at the mall. "the mall?" i smiled. "yeah i remembered how much you loved the mall" he said taking the key out of the car. We walked into the mall stopping for a few picture with some fans. "let's go in here!" i said grabbing his arm and pulling him into an Victoria's secret. I browsed around the store while Jake stood next to me looking very uncomfortable. I laughed.

I picked up some lingerie Jake laughed. "What?" i asked "i could never see you wearing something like that" he said. "why?" i asked. "because its barely anything" he laughed. My mouth dropped. I picked the lingerie and put it in my car with some other things then looked up at Jake who had a surprised face on, I smiled. Too bad you'll never see me in it.

We finished up at Victoria's secret and decided we were hungry. We stopped by Tender greens, i ordered a salad. We laughed and joked just like old times. "thanks for getting me out of the house Jake" i smiled. "Of course what are friends for?" he smiled. "Right" i said looking down wanting to burst into tears. I was interrupted from my thoughts by the waiter dropping the check on the table.

I reached or my bag "No" Jake laughed at me. "What?" i asked pulling out my card. "I'm paying" He said looking at me. "Jake this isn't a date you don't have to pay" i argued. "No its your birthday of course i'm paying" He said handing the waiter his card. I rolled my eyes and put my card away. Jake started getting a call. "Excuse me, it's Hannah" he said getting up looking at his phone.

"Her name is Hannah" i said quietly. "What?" Jake asked confused. "Nothing" I said quickly. He laughed and got up and answered the call. He returned a few moments later. "Ready?" He asked. I nodded and got up. We drove back to the trap house. On the way we blared music and sang our hearts out. I missed this. i missed him. We pulled up to the house and walked up to the door.

I walked up to the door and opened that's when i heard "Surprise!". I jumped back. There was a t least 200 people there. "Woah" I laughed.
