Later that night, long after the friends had left the park, Elenora couldn't stop glowing.
"I got married today!" She swoons.
Kate laughs, slinging her arm around her shoulder. "Yeah, sure you did."
Elenora sighs again.
Peter Pan, her first love, had proposed to her. All she could feel was joy.
"Oh!" Elenora gasps. "What if the reason he proposed to me was because he thought I was cute! Oh my goodness, Peter Pan thought I was cute!"
Kate side hugs Elenora. "Honey, I don't mean to burst your bubble but I think he was just doing that because he's an actor."
Elenora pouts. Though she knew it was most likely true, the thought of Peter Pan thinking she was cute made her so happy.
"You ruin everything," Elenora sighs. "Give me a bit of happiness at least once in my life."
Kate groans. She knows Elenora has always been the kind who is a dreamer.
Of course, Elenora will attempt to turn it around and say Kate is the romantic dreamer, but if it's a race, Elenora is winning by a landslide.
"Okay, okay, if you keep believing, the dream that you wish, it will come true." Kate says.
Elenora sticks out her tounge. "Stop quoting Disney movies."
Kate lifts an eyebrow. "You literally quoted Lady and the Tramp earlier, no way in hell are you getting on my case for that."
Elenora stomps on Kate's foot. "That's a bad word."
Kate groans again, opening the door to the hotel lobby.
Inside, despite it being 10PM - the girls had gone out for dinner then went to a club - the whole room was buzzing with people.
Some people checking in, some checking out, even some people sitting in the expensive chairs waiting for their rooms to be ready.
"Glad we got here on a Thursday," Kate says, walking past the line of people trying to get a room and up to the elevator.
When coming upon another line for the elevator, Kate grimaces. "Yeah, nevermind. Looks like we're taking the stairs."
On the journey up the stairs, the girls could hear someone singing to themselves a few stories higher. A man, obviously, by the low tone.
"Jeez, that guy's loud." Elenora snickers. "Someone ought to tell him we can hear him from all the way down here."
As they continue to ascend the stairs, the singing stops.
Kate turns to Elenora. "I think he heard you."
Slowly, the girls creep up the stairs, hoping to hear more of the song. He was actually quite good and with the accoustics of the stairwell, it made him sound even better.
They could hear a door open then close from ahead of them. The singing man was gone.
Defeated, they started back at their normal pace, not caring about how much sound they made.
"So what do you want to do tomorrow?" Kate asks as they make it to the fifth floor.
Elenora thinks. "I'm not sure."
"Liar," Kate claims. "You want to go back to see your husband again, don't you?"
Elenora turns away. "Maybe."
Opening their room door, the two sigh in relief to see the wonderful maids of Disney had done their magic and somehow managed to make their room look spotless again.
