Three weeks have passed since Fenrock and Brynjolf first met and they've been going on quite a few contracts since then, earning enough money to get around, counting out Brynjolf's 'earnings' from the casino. They have always had their eyes open for any traces of other 'Blood Roses' as they now had refered to them.
They were now both heading for Muinn Dir, the great desert jewel in the center of the Khi'al Dir desert, where they were to meet their contract giver.
This time they were going there by sandship. A sandship is basically a regular ship only, that it can be driven on the land, mostly the desert, because of the fine sand. Luckily Fenrock had an old acquaintance, that was the captain of such a sandship. A sly, former black market merchant called Salem. And one of Stormblade's best friends.
Next to the ship they saw some sandsharks diving into the sand and back up, like dolphins. However, they'd never attack the ship, they'd only attack, if someone were to walk through the desert.
„Do you remember the last time, we were on such a thing, Fenrock?" Salem asked.
„How could I forget that.. The worst idea of my whole life lead to one of the my best friends." Fenrock replied.
„Worst idea of your whole life?" Brynjolf asked, „Tell me about it!"
„Fenrock here decided that it would be a great idea to take a long walk through the desert." Salem started.
„Come on, gimme a break here, I had been thrown out of a fuckin' airship, man." Fenrock interfered.
„And why was that?" Brynjolf asked.
„My contract giver and I, we had...differences.." Fenrock replied a little embarrassed.
„Anyway, I was on my way through the desert to Muinn Dir, when I suddenly heard a terrifying, loud scream, that of a monster. My men and me, we immediatly changed our course and saw the dying body of a Rak Mhora! A motherfuckin' Rak Mhora! And leaning against it, completely exhausted, about to dehydrate, good ol' Fenrock."
„He fought a Rak Mhora all by himself?" Brynjolf asked.
„He did. I tell ya, Fenrock's one tough son of a bitch!" Salem replied.
„I guess, that's why all the ladies, that we met on our contracts always had their eyes on you, huh." Brynjolf mentioned grinning.
„Well, I guess." Fenrock mumbled grinning.
„Hah! Fenrock, do you remember that girl from Dha'al Ruk? She was all over you after you saved her from that chimera." Salem mentioned.
„Of course I remember her. I also remember that chimera more than well, it left a mark on my face, so, how could I not."
„Oh, I'm sure, that girl left a few marks on your body aswell, haha!"
„Hehe, this I won't ever forget asw-"
Fenrock was interrupted by a loud horn and a scream, „RAK MHORA!"
The three immediatly jumped up from their seat and looked towards the direction of the loud monster scream.
In front of the ship was a 330ft huge monster jumping out of the sand, it was five times as huge as the ship itself! The Rak Mhora was then going under the sand again, like it would dive into the water.
Fenrock immediatly ran on deck, followed by Brynjolf, but Salem told him to say underdeck, he'd need him there. Salem then ran upstairs aswell.
„Salem!" called Fenrock.
