„Hey, Bell, I noticed something.." Brynjolf mentioned. He and Bella were currently watching Lucia train out in the woods, while Fenrock was out on a job on his own.
„Let's hear it." Bella said.
„Did you notice something about Lucia's style of fighting? Don't you think it's awfully familiar to someone else's?" he asked.
„..Hmm.. now that you say it. It looks way more.. swingy and swift than usual. Like, I don't know, 'sword dancing'." Bella agreed, „Fenny fights like that, doesn't he?"
„Indeed. Just something I noticed. It's not entirely the same, but she seems to imitate him, don't you think?" Brynjolf said.
„It's not only that. She's also adapting a little to his ways of talking. Well, without all those quick witted bits or the swearing. She starts to talk in those strange phrases, that Fenny sometimes says and I noticed that she tries to give some advice on the most different things." Bella added.
„Like Fenrock." Bryn said.
„Like Fenrock." Bella agreed.
„Hey guys, watcha talking about?" Lucia asked after she made a little pause from her training.
„Oh, nothing, we just noticed something lately." Bella replied.
„Which would be?" the young girl asked.
The two looked at each, then nodded, „Well, it seems like you're.. well, copying Fenny a little." Brynjolf explained, „I mean, you're starting to talk like him, more or less and now you're swinging your weapon similar to his fighting style."
„Not that that's a bad thing," Bella added, „Just something we've noticed."
„What makes you think that? I don't believe, that I've shown any signs of imitation." Lucia protested.
„You know, this sentence, 'that I've shown any signs of imitation', you wouldn't say something like that on a regular basis. That's a Fenrock-sentence." Bella explained.
„Yeah, like talking with many adjectives and decorating your sentence with many strange sounding words." Brynjolf added.
„I'm not embellishing my sentences with strange sounding words. Neither am I using any unneccesarily added adjectives or any of those sorts. Besides, Fenny doesn't talk like this aswell. He's just trying to sound accordingly to the situation, using such sentence- Why are we even talking about that right now?!"
„Let's just say you've spend too much time with Fenny and focus rather on the fighting style, okay?" Brynjolf suggested, „You can't deny at least a tiny resemblence."
„True that." Lucia agreed, „To be honest, I've actually tried to imitate his flashy, almost dance-like style of fighting, because on one hand, I think it looks better and I don't know, I feel so ineffective, when fighting next to you. With magic only, I'll never be able to cut it, I'm just too inexperienced yet and my fencing is not the best either and I wanted to try something else."
„Oh, come on, Lucia, you're not ineffective! If one's to talk about that it's definitely me!" Brynjolf protested, „I'm just a guy with a bow and a sword, fighting next to an excellent mage, the niece of an archmage and the Scarlet Demon."
„But you always hit your target, no matter what it is and no matter how drunk you are! And you can fight properly with a sword aswell!"
„Also, I wouldn't call myself excellent. Above average, definitely, but not quite excellent."
