Lucas and Matilda lay curled up against each other in bed. The rare morning sun flooding in through the crack in the curtains. "Move in with me." Lucas says his voices still thick and raspy from sleep.
"Why?" Matilda giggles as she is pulled into a tight hug. Lucas kisses the top of her head.
"It would make things easier." Lucas mumbles into Matilda's hair.
"Would it." Matilda jokes.
"Yes." Lucas starts tickling Matilda. "You won't be carrying bags back and fourth."
"What if I like carrying bags back and fourth?" Matilda says through laughs.
Lucas kisses her deeply. "Do you want to move in?" Matilda shrugs. "That's okay." Lucas smiles softly. "Think about it." Lucas pinches Matilda in the side. "I am not going anywhere anytime soon."
Matilda laughs as she moves from under him and straddles him. "I'll think about it." She leans down to kiss him. "But first I have to fix things between me and my dad."
Lucas moves his hands up and down her back. "Sounds good."

Matilda carries her duffle bag over her shoulder as she walks up to the front door. She pulls her keys out her pocket and walks in. The morning sun warm even with the cold autumn breeze. She walks in silently knowing everyone would still be asleep.
"What do you think you are doing, young lady?" Matilda jumps at the voice and turns to see Hermione in a robe her foot tapping the floor as her arms are crossed across her chest.
"Trying not to wake anybody up." Matilda says. Hermione thinks about the answer.
"Fair." Hermione says still frowning but with a playful gleam in her eye.
"What did you think I was doing?" Matilda pushes.
"Sneaking in because you didn't tell Charlie you where with Lucas." Hermione says as she ushers Matilda into the kitchen and hands her a plate of toast and eggs.
"He knew." Matilda says with her mouth full of toast.
"Swallow your food first then talk." Hermione scolds. "Did you ever learn any manners?"
"Nope I was raised by Charlie." Matilda jokes as she starts deliberately chewing with her mouth open and slurping her tea. Hermione shakes her head but smiles. Hermione and Matilda chat away and slowly more people join them. When Charlie walks in he kisses the top of Matilda's head before sitting down next to her. The two don't share a word and the kitchen empties as slowly as it filled until it's just Charlie and Matilda.
"Sorry I overreacted last week." Charlie mumbles into his mug. Matilda shrugs as she takes her last bite of egg. "I shouldn't have lost my cool. It's just a difficult subject to handle and makes me feel like I have failed as a parent."
"You haven't failed as a parent." Matilda smiles. "And it's okay and I am also sorry."
"Is it fair to say that having Hermione take on a active role as your 'mother' so to speak, has started to fill the void?" Charlie asks carefully think about and picking his words.
"Yes. But I will still come to you with most things." Matilda grins.
Charlie smiles. He hadn't lost his daughter as that was one of his fears when it came to the situation. "I wouldn't expect otherwise." Matilda roles her eyes. "What was that for?" Charlie asks acting overly offended.
