Hello readers, I just want to say that I'm sorry. Due to personal reasons, I have decided to stop writing this story. There were supposed to be about thirty chapters, and I had even mapped out the future events of The Secretary

I felt that if I had to end this story early, the last chapter was a good one to end on. The Once-ler and the reader's character are in a relationship that they no longer have to keep private, FN found a job, and the Once-ler decided to stop cutting down the trees. In the end, the unwritten chapters are unnecessary since all the issues seem to be solved already. However, I will say what I had in mind.

Chapter 14 - This chapter was supposed to take place weeks after chapter 13. The reader was supposed to have a conversation with the Lorax and the animals. He was supposed to tell her which way a tree falls, and was supposed to say that the Once-ler leaned towards greed. The reader was going to say that she'll look out for the Once-ler to make sure that he won't go back to his old ways.

Chapters 15 through 19 - During these chapters, the Once-ler was supposed to leave on a business trip. During that time, his mother was going to make things hard on the reader. Overworked, the reader would pass out soon after the Once-ler returns to the factory. She would later tell him that his mother was being awful to her, and he would go on to address their relationship in a press conference, showing that their relationship is serious. He would later buy the reader a necklace.

Chapter 20 would have just been a filler chapter focused on the happy relationship between the Once-ler and the reader.

Chapter 21 - This chapter would have been centered around the Once-ler. He would have noticed a decrease in profit due to less people being interested in Thneeds and from paying a lot of people to harvest the tufts. He has an inner struggle with himself, and his mother takes advantage of this. She would have said to do what's best for the company... and for himself.

Chapter 22 - In this chapter, the reader sees that the Once-ler is chopping down trees again. She confronts him, but he claims that it's just to make room to expand the factory, and that he'll stop soon. However, he doesn't stop since he has been profiting more by cutting down the trees. Later, he plans to build a wall around the town. The reader would have had a small argument with him. The Once-ler would have said that it was for design, but she would have said that he was building the wall to stop the citizens of Thneedville from being able to see what he is doing to the environment.

Chapter 23 - Similar to the last chapter, the reader would have tried to confront the Once-ler again.

Chapter 24 - The reader tries to talk to the distracted Once-ler, but he just walks around the factory. She follows, and he sings the song Biggering from The Lorax soundtrack. At the end, he would have fallen backwards into a pile of money that was dumped in front of the factory from a rich customer who bought a lot of Thneeds.

Chapter 25 - The reader takes the Lorax to visit the Once-ler, hoping to knock some sense into him. He would have gotten angry at the Lorax, and the reader would have appeared on the balcony, saying that enough is enough, and that he is now a bad man. They get into an argument, and she slaps the Once-ler. Shocked, she runs off.

Chapter 26 - The reader apologizes to the Once-ler the next day, and she tries to calmly restate her ideas. He refuses to give up, and she says that she can't be with someone with no care for others. She quits, hanging the necklace he had given her on the doorknob. She says that this isn't the end of just their work relationship.

Chapter 27 - This would have been centered on the Once-ler, who sees the reader everywhere. He wakes up at his desk from a dream that he had, and takes out her necklace from his pocket, staring at it.

Chapter 28 - This would have shown the reader going through different moods, from being fine one minute to sobbing hysterically the next.

Chapter 29 - FN visits the Once-ler and convinces him to visit the reader. The Once-ler somehow becomes convinced to stop cutting down the trees, and he shuts down his factory. The reader gets back together with him.

Chapter 30 - The Once-ler proposes to the reader.

Chapter 31 - The Once-ler and the reader are getting married. After the ceremony, FN (who was the maid of honor) bumps into one of the Once-ler's brothers. (His brothers were the only ones from his family who showed up at the wedding). This causes the reader to jokingly say that the Once-ler’s brother and FN are next to get married. The chapter ends with the Once-ler and the reader leaving the reception while holding hands.

Epilogue - The Once-ler takes the reader to the house that he had someone build while the two were away. They find the Lorax and the animals inside, and the Once-ler kicks them out. After they're alone, the reader kisses his cheek and says that this is the life that she wanted. He replies that he now realizes what he wanted all along. They go outside to water the trees together.

That was my plan for the story. Again, I'm sorry that I won't be continuing. Thank you to everyone who has read this story, and goodbye.
