N opened the door, the smell of food greeting her. FN exited the kitchen holding a spatula, an apron around her. She flinched when she saw N closing the door.

"You startled me," she said, laughing. Noticing the blank look on her friend's face, she continued, "You're back earlier than usual... What's wrong?"

N made her way to the couch, sitting down and looking at FN

     "You were right."

"About what?" FN asked curiously, walking over to sit next to her roommate.

"About everything," N replied, sinking into the cushions. "The Once-ler... likes me."

"All right!" her friend said excitedly. "How did you figure it out? You didn't just straight up ask, did you?"

"No... I guess it was just kind of obvious," N said, playing with her fingers, "when he tried to kiss me."

     "Wow! Wait, tried?"

"Well, what did you expect me to do, let him?"

     "Well, kinda."

N rolled her eyes as her friend stared at her expectantly.

"Nothing else happened," she said, crossing her arms. "Deal with it."

"Aw, seriously? Nothing? You rejected him?"

"...I told him to call me."

"Ah ha!" FN shouted, standing on the couch and pointing. "You do have a crush on him! I knew it!"

"What? No, I just... I don't know, okay? Anyway, it's your fault. I wouldn't even be thinking about him had you not shown me that video... Not that I'm thinking about—"

The sound of a phone ringing cut her off. The two friends looked at each other, then they both tried to reach for it. FN pushed N down and ran to the phone, picking it up and answering it.

"Hello? Oh, Mr. Once-ler?" FN glanced back at N, who was running to get the phone, and playfully stuck her tongue out. "No, N isn't home yet. But did you know she thinks about y—"

N grabbed the phone out of FN's hands, pushing her to the side and breathlessly saying, "Mr. Once-ler? Hi, sorry about that. Is there something you need?"

"Hey, N, I was just wondering... You know I'm visiting Nerkleville tomorrow, right?"

"Yes, the broadcasting station contacted me to help schedule a time to shoot your thneed ad."

"Will you come with me?" asked the Once-ler on the other end. "I'll be gone for three days, two of which will be for the ad, and then maybe after we could... see the town together... The company will pay for the hotel rooms and everything. I mean, I might need you there."

     "I don't know. Three days?"

"I'll consider it a work day, but you probably won't even have to do anything. At least think about it."

     "I don't know..."

They were both silent for a moment until the Once-ler started to talk again.

"Sorry about what happened in my office. I guess I just got caught up in the moment. But you never gave me an answer, N."

     "Yeah, actually, about that..."
