"And, so the two goes above the 3, so what would the 3 be in the fraction?" I calmly asked Lucas as we sat perched on his front lawn.

His eyebrows crinkled together, staring at the sheet of paper, and I sighed. Tutoring was hard. Especially when you're tutoring your best friend.

"Come on, Lucas! I taught you this." I said, blowing my lips out in frustration.

Lucas looked at me, "It's the denominator." He spoke quietly.

I smiled, but Lucas didn't seem moved. "Lucas! You got it! You got the answer!"

The boy smiled, his white teeth showing, as we both jumped up and pulled each other in for a giant hug.

I had my arms wrapped around his neck and his were around my waist.

I couldn't stop smiling.

"Thankyou, y/n." Lucas mumbled into my ear.

I realized we were still hugging, awkwardly, and so I pulled away slowly, my arms brushing his as the fell to my sides.

"I'm really happy for you, Lucas. You'll ace the test on Friday." I grinned at him, easing the tension.

Lucas nodded, "Thanks, y/n."

I nodded too, not knowing what to do next.
"Well, I guess I should go." I mumbled, reaching down to grab my notebooks.

Lucas reached down at the same time as me, and we bumped heads, causing us both to groan and fall back.

"Argh! I'm so sorry!" Lucas wailed, but I only laughed, scratching my head.

I waved a hand over at him as if to say 'don't worry about it', "It's fine, Lucas. It happens."

He chuckled slightly, "Yeah.. I guess. Hey, can I ask you a question?"

I put the worksheet back in my notebook and glanced up at him, "Math, related, or?"

Lucas shook his head, "No, no. Something else?"

I nodded, "Shoot."

"Uh, well, you know how the Snowball dance is coming up, and well Mike and everyone else has dates, so I was wondering..." he stopped, and I smiled.

"You were wondering...?" I lowered my head to stop from laughing.

"Wanna go with me?"

I was shocked, to say the least, "Um... yeah. Of course."

Lucas smiled, nodding, "Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome sauce? Yes. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Cool."

"Lucas! Calm down. It's just a dance!"

He nodded, getting to his feet, before reaching into his pocket and pulling out his walkie talkie, "Guys! Pick up! She said yes! We have a happy civilian on the loose! I repeat, happy civilian on the loose!"

The walkie talkie buzzed a little bit, before I heard Dustin's voice through the phone, "Dude, shut up. I'm trying to eat my pudding."
