i stood outside of starcourt mall, nancy, jonathan, lucas and will sitting in the car. jonathan poked around the engine, not knowing how to get the car started, as nancy gripped my hand.

the revving of a certain car tore our gazes from jonathan's broken down car. billy sat in his car, revving it as his face glistened red with anger. he didn't want to. but he had to.

"get the car started." nancy said, panting, before walking around in front of the car and pointing her gun in the direction of billy.

jonathan closed the bonnet of the car as i opened the backseat car door, both lucas and will looked at me on fear, "duck." was all i said, before getting in the backseat with them.

jonathan was in the front seat, the car not starting, "oh come on. no, no, no, no!"

i heard billy revving the car some more, and i knew that any second now he'd come racing down and crash into us. finally, i heard the car speed off, and i cursed under my breath.

"oh shit. come on, we gotta go!" lucas yelled over the seat, and will stared wide-eyed at the car zooming towards us.

nancy fired one shot, two shots, then three, but the car still kept coming. i held onto will's hand tightly as jonathan tried harder to get the car going, but no avail.

i looked out the window, my eyes widening too when i saw the car was only around hundred meters away, "nancy!" i yelled, "get out of the way!"

before she could move, another car came crashing into view, knocking billy's already torn up car out of the way.

i instantly got out of the car, looking over into the mystery car to see steve and robin, like partners in crime.

billy's car set alight, and before we knew it, the shadow monster had climbed atop of starcourt mall, which we all held dear to our hearts.

nancy ushered herself into the car once jonathan had got it working, and we raced over to steve and robin.

"get in!" nancy stuck her head out the window, and i sat desperately waiting for the two to climb in the back with me.

the opened the back door, climbed in, and quickly shut it, just as jonathan sped off quicker then you could say 'demogorgan'.

i sighed loudly, glancing out the back window to see the shadow monster lurking after us, quite fast.

"jonathan! it's speeding up a bit.go faster!" i yelled, and lucas glanced at me over the seat, a scared look in his eyes.

"dusty-bun, you copy?" we heard a small voice through the walkie talkie, and instantly, all heads turned in the direction of robin, who held the small thing in her hands.

steve glanced at me and i shrugged.
"i copy suzie-poo. it's sounds much better now, thanks."

steve's eyes widened, as did robin's and mine, we all looked at each other, "suzie." we said in union, barley believing in suzie a couple
hours back.

"so listen," dustin rambled on, "do you know planks constant?"

"do you know the earth orbits the sun?" suzie replied sarcastically, and my eyebrows raised, telling them both to mentally hurry it up.

robin glanced out the window, "this better be good." she mumbled, watching the shadow monster grow closer and closer.

"okay, so i know it starts with two sixes, and then uh.." he stopped himself, "what is it?"

i looked over at steve, "they've put it on the radio where hop can hear too."

lucas looked at me over the seat, "no shit, genius."

i rolled my eyes at the boy, listening in to dustin and suzie again, "okay, let me just be clear on this, i haven't heard from you in a week and now you want a mathematical equation that you should know, so you can.. save the world?"

"suzie-poo, i promise i will make it up to you as soon as possible."

we all sat in the car, dumbfounded. why couldn't suzie just shut up and tell dustin the goddamn numbers?

"you can make it up to me now." she replied and i groaned, knowing we didn't have time for this.

steve looked at me, and held his arm out for a hug, to which i complied, resting my head on his shoulder. "i missed you." he mumbled.

before i could reply, dustin was speaking again, "what?"

"i want to hear it." suzie said, her mind fully on getting what she wanted.

"not right now." dustin said urgently, but suzie didn't give in.

"yes! now, dusty-bun!"

"suzie-poo, this is urgent!"

i could almost hear suzie rolling her eyes, "yes, yes. you're saving the world, i heard you the first time, but ged is also saving earthsea and he's about to confront the shadow, so this is suzie, signing off."

my heart raced, and i clutched steve's shirt as i heard the shadow monster gaining on us. jonathan drove wildly, making sure to hit every pothole in the road possible.

"wait, wait, wait! okay." dustin said, sighing, "okay, okay."

"turn around," he sang, and i cringed, "look at what you see, in her face. the mirror of your dreams."

i looked up at robin, who couldn't help but smile. i let out a small giggle myself as they continued on, "make believe i'm everywhere," they sang together, "given in the light. written on the pages is, the answer to a never-ending story."

i sat still as they harmonized together, and steve scrunched his nose up. "what the hell?" he mumbled.

will and lucas sat still in the backseat, obviously not knowing what to do either.

"story!" they both finished, and suzie spoke again, "plancks constant is 6.62607004."

i pushed myself up off of steve, glancing over at him to see him already staring at me. i smiled, praying that hop got that.

steve looked at me, "are you okay?"

i glanced out the back window at the shadow monster, "no."

he pulled me close to him, "it'll be okay."
