Lately, everyone has been hanging out together.
Even Nathan has been hanging out with me.
he's been filming me and my friends with our daily schedule.
We usually do things like practice our scripts for drama and argue about who's the best actor or what the moral of a movie. We sound pretty boring, but we're quite rowdy.
I contribute, but I'm only a normal person. Normal.
Never mind, I guess I'm a little weird for normal.
"I've got three weeks until I have to hand in the short movie" Nathan spills, putting down his camera, and sliding on his glasses. He pulls an awkward smile and takes out his laptop.
I move beside him, curious of what he's going to do next.
He pulls up a movie editing program, and plugs in his camera. "What are you doing?" I ask, as he turns the camera on, the screen showing up on his computer.
"I'm editing and clipping out the scenes or parts we dont need" he replies.
Interested, I keep watching.
He clips a bit, then he edits a bit,
and then he stops.
"Why did you stop?" I say, moving.my head towards him.
He doesn't answer. All he does is stare right at me, and smile awkwardly.
It stays like that for a moment, until Jeremy ruins it.
"Woah, hey there guys can I just excuse the beckoning gaze between you two, to say that everyone's kind of staring." he whispers.
I look up around me.
They were staring alright.
Not everyone, but enough to make not only I, but Nathan blush.
"Stare? I d-didn't stare." Nathan says.
"Me neither!" I lie, feeling quick regret.
"You are both pathological liars, you know that?" belle laughs.
In the afternoon, we all walk home together, and take a short detour to the bakery.
"Theres always that one great thing about the bakery" I begin.
Nathan films me.
"Oh? What's that then?"
"The fact that you can have something savoury or sweet, and the smell is always good" I laugh, licking sugar from my lips.
They laugh too, and we continue on, like a normal group of high school students.
