Noah can feel the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as the blue-eyed girl approaches him. Kalista makes a skipping motion making both her thick her and blue and white skirt sway left and right. The redhead can't help but look down at her thighs with each movement. When he starts to get some "intimate" images in his mind, he knows the other boys have their eyes on her, too. She stops before him, her face only inches from his. A bright smile forms on her face as she pinches his cheek and turns back to face the others.
"Here he is! Our host! Isn't he so cute!"
The students all gasp. Noah groans.
Kalista, knock it off!
She turns back to face him, her eyes still playful as ever as she lets go of his cheek.
"You mean Noah's family is hosting you three?"
"Wow! I would never have thought Noah to be the hosting type?"
"Isn't it too soon?"
"I'm jealous! Wow!"
Noah forces a grin as the students all give their comments. He notes that while Tychon and Kalista look overly excited to get some attention from his classmates, Alexius has taken to staring intently at Katie. When he realizes that Noah is looking at him though he smirks and looks down at the grass. The little gesture makes Noah's teeth clench for a moment though he wills himself to relax.
Gah! These three show up here like it's some party they can just crash. I know this is just some game to get me to spend more time with them, well some of them. I don't know what Alexius is thinking because of his stupid Adamanth! What's he thinking?
Someone's jealous, I think? Worried he might be interested in Katie?
Katie's not...she doesn't...he's not...
"Noah?"
The boy jumps as the short brunette whispers into his ear. Sighing he turns to face her trying his best to not look bothered in front of the others.
"Yeah, Katie?"
"You-um," she hesitates as she begins speaking audibly for others to hear.
"You're hosting these three?"
Noah frowns and nods slowly.
"That's right...I must have forgotten about signing up for the hosting program, ha ha! Obviously with my mom passing way so suddenly," he glares at Kalista as he raises his voice, "I might be a little reluctant to the idea of having new people in my home."
Noah's mind flashes back to the night before. The boy and his father pull into their driveway. David turns off the engine and as he gets ready to open his door, Noah stops him.
"Just letting you know, there's going to be six of them."
"Six!"
Noah nods. David shrugs. The two quietly get out of the black car and make their way to the front door. David starts to put his key in the door lock when the knob turns. The door opens before him. He gasps as a tall, brawny man appears, his body slightly too big to fit through the doorway. He stands smiling in a blue athletic polo and khaki shorts with a glass of what looks like tea in one hand.
"Hello! You must be Mr. Hart!"
"Uh, hi?"
"Arnold Palmer?"
"Hi, David."
David takes the man's hand to shake when a drink gets pushed toward him.
"Dad! He's offering you a drink. That's not his name!"
