15-How Things Were

Sometime after midnight, David recognizes that not only does he feel tired, but everyone around him is nodding off. Turning off the television, beckons Phil and Lucas to get some sleep.

"All right then, Phil. Let's head home."

"Dad? How can we go now? Can we," he turns to David, "can we spend the night, sir?"

"PHIL!"

David raises his hands pleadingly and shakes his head.

"Sorry Phil, but your father is right. I have to...find room for everyone here."

"Oh..."

The blonde boy puts his hands on his hips as he glances around the room then frowns.

"Yeah, OK, but this is-"

"-pretty cool, son, we know. See you David! Everyone good night!"

Lucas grabs his son by the shoulders and smiles as he gently directs him to the door. The group all bids the Godwins farewell. David closes the door behind Lucas, turns the lock, and turns around to face the group. 

A yawning Noah, his arms stretched out over his head, sits back down on the couch in his orange flames and black armor with a thud. David raises a hand to get his attention only to watch the boy fish something out of a pouch and slap it on his chest. In a moment, his fire and armor disappears replaced by bright blue outfit. Ty yawns and does the same motion with his hands changing his clothes into a smilier garment.

"Noah, what did you do to yourself?"

Noah rubs his eyes and looks down at his clothes as it not sure himself. The clothing is of one piece and fitted from shoulder to thighs. David can't decide if he's looking at some sort of cut of pajama suit or romper.

"Dad...please don't judge me," Noah replies as he rubs his sleeves across his face. "This thing is so soft!"

Ty nods in agreement and proceeds to lay down on the couch placing his head across Alex's lap only to get shoved into the floor.

"OWWWW!"

"Are you stupid?"

Ty sits up on the floor and smirks.

"What? No, I'm tired."

Kay laughs to herself as she slaps a small item on her chest turning her dress and jewels into a silky, purple gown. David can't help but notice how the material hugs the girl's curves and shows off her bare arms and shoulders. Her face blushes slightly as she turns to Noah then looks upstairs.

"Is that where your bedroom is, Noah?"

"Yeah, why-" Noah stops himself and looks between the girl and his father. His father a bright pink.

"NOPE. NOPE. NOPE."

"What's wrong, I didn't say anything?"

"No, you didn't say anything."

"You didn't say anything, either."

Her eyes narrow on him as her face shimmers a bright blue for a moment.

David looks at the two closely not sure what to think or say. He notices Alex getting up and approaching him as Ty retakes his place on the loveseat and folds up his knees to his chest and closes his eyes.

"Alex," he whispers, "what's happening right now?"

Noah suddenly vanishes from the room for a moment as Kay giggles and runs up the steps towards his room. Noah appears back in the living room with a pair of blankets and pillows in hand. The squint their eyes at each other before Kalista turns and enters the bedroom the shuts the door behind her.
