Elena's point of view

The sun is lowering when I look up into the sky, it still shines a little and the light dances off my skin as I come to a clearing. Finding a large rock I sit down, clutching my legs to my chest. 'Where are you Damon?'. I think to myself as I hug myself tighter. The sounds of animals howling in the distance sends shivers down my spine. Were Klaus's hybrids out there? What would they do if they would find me? I can't wait around to find out. Scooting down from my spot on the rock I pull my emotions together and set off again into the forest. I blur quickly through the forest, staying out of the way of any humans, not having the time to lose myself again, I force my subconscious to think about him. 'Damon? Damon where are you .. Baby please give me a sign.' I force myself to focus, pushing out with my mind hoping, somehow he will hear me. I have been out all day, the sun is setting and I am running out of time. I need to find him, and fast. Blocking out everything I focus entirely on him, his perfect smile, his deep oceanic blues, his chuckle, that smirk, Oh how I missed that smirk. My eyes begin to fill with tears and all I can do is blink them back. "Not now Elena." I tell myself. There is no way I will be able to find Damon in the dark. Then it hits me, why hadn't I thought of it sooner! Shoving my hand into my pocket I pull out my phone. He was the last person I called so hitting redial I hold the phone in my hand, concentrated. Calling back over and over I move through the forest hoping to hear what I am searching for. And then, in the silence I hear it. Damon's phone.
