Chapter Eleven:

As promised, Michael called later that evening. I took my phone and answered as I lay back down on my bed.

"Hey."

"Hey, listen I'm sorry about earlier, with Calum and all." He said softly.

"He isn't going to tell Luke, is he?" I asked quietly.

"No." He said. "No Calum wouldn't do that."

I sighed in relief. I wasn't ready to hurt Luke with that information. Maybe later, if Michael and I became more serious but definitely not now.

"Soo...I'm off limits, huh?" I asked hesitantly.

"Shit, you heard that?" He said.

"Yeah."

"It was sort of an unspoken thing, after Luke told us he liked you."

"When was that?" I asked.

"I think when he found out you were going to be back living in Australia, about four months ago maybe? But I'm not quite sure when he first started fancying you and all. You were with Matt, so I guess there was a bit of a reason to keep it to himself."

At least four months, and I never knew? I got up from my bed holding my phone to my ear but not saying anything. I wandered downstairs and around the house looking at photographs and random possessions Luke had lying around.

"So what are you up to?" I asked finally changing the subject.

"Not a whole lot you?" Michael answered.

"Same."

We stayed silent for a minute- not uncomfortable, just silent.

"I just want to say last night was amazing.. And really special." He said.

"I feel the same way." I said with a smile.

Suddenly, I heard a car door shut outside.

Looking out the window, I noticed Luke making his way towards the house.

"Shoot! I have to go, Luke's here."

"Alright." He sounded a little disappointed. "Bye Ali."

"Bye Michael." I said before ending the call and shoving my phone into my pocket. I opened the door for Luke as he made his way through the doorway.

"Hey." He smiled as I closed the door behind us.

"Hey, how were you're parents?" I asked.

"They're great, both said hi and were asking for you." He said setting his bags down on the ground.

"Tell them I said hi back next time you're talking to them." I smiled.

I followed Luke into the kitchen and leaned up against the counter as he searched his refrigerator for some food. When he had found something we both took a seat at the table.

"So what did you do whilst I was away."

I froze for a second. "Uh, not a whole lot. You know just sat in and watched some tv and stuff."

It wasn't a complete lie, I had watched half an episode of Pretty Little Liars this afternoon.

"Typical." He grinned.

I gave him a guilty smile back. As we sat at the table, Luke took a bite of his newly made sandwich. I picked up my copy of The fault in our Stars and began to read a new page when Luke spoke again.

"I talked to Calum earlier." He said swallowing the last piece of his sandwich.

"Yeah?" I asked as a million thoughts ran through my head? Did he know? Had Calum told him? Had he found out about Michael and I?

"Mhm, I heard he went out with Danielle the other day. Had a good time."

Jesus, the boy nearly scared me half to death.

"Yeah, she told me." I said with a fake smile. I was happy for Calum and Danielle though, honestly. I suddenly felt uncomfortable sitting next to Luke, knowing I had slept with his best friend behind his back. He had absolutely no idea what was going on.

"I'm pretty tired so I think I'm going to go to bed, night..." I said.

"Goodnight, Alison." He smiled as I trailed off back upstairs.

I changed into a pair of shorts and a knitted jumper and climbed into bed.

My phone buzzed next to me with a text. The text on the screen read:

'Goodnight x'

It was from Michael. I smiled as I curled myself up into the blankets and fell asleep within minutes.

A/N: Sorry this chapter is so short and there's so much dialogue, I'm an actress and I've been very busy auditioning for a lot of stuff so yeah I'm sorry for not updating sooner and the fact this chapter is just a filler but the next chapter will be better I hope! Thank you for reading/commenting😊
