Too Little Too Late

Alexander's POV:

16th October, 2018

(Mia is 10 weeks and 5 days, Hannah is 9 weeks and 6 days)

Its been a week since I completely fucked everything up with Danielle, I didn't mean to, none of us even knew she was standing outside my room. To say things are different is definitely an understatement, everything has changed. Dani won't talk or even look at me. She makes sure that we don't run into each other in the school halls and doesn't even come to our house anymore.

I need to make things right before I lose her.

"Hey baby." Lauren chirped. I closed my locker and turned to face her. Should I do it now? No I don't want to cause a scene which I know she'll do.

"Hey." I smiled. Good this gives me time to think about how to do this.

"Did you hear the news?" She asked.

"News?"

"There's a new couple on campus." She smirked.

"So?"

"This one is very interesting." I was about to ask what the hell she was talking about when the doors at the end of the hallway swing open and the last two people I would've expected to be together walked in. My mouth fell open in shock as Danielle and Alec, the new kid in our grade, walked hand in hand down the hall. I didn't even know they were talking let alone dating. I could see the smirk on her face as they got closer to Lauren and I.

"You might want to close your mouth Alex, your letting flies in." She snickered. I closed my mouth and frowned as her and Alec walked away.

"What the hell was that all about?!" Lauren shouted at Dani.

"Ask your boyfriend!" Dani yelled over her shoulder but kept walking.

"What the hell is her problem?"

"I don't know." I lied. Lauren sighed and was about to complain as per usual when the bell suddenly rang. Yes! Saved by the bell.

"I'll see you later ok." I kissed her cheek and sprinted to my first class.

"Hey Alex." Danielle called out after class ended. I tried to hide the surprised look on my face, she's actually talking to me now.

"You should sit with us during lunch, there's room now since Carmen and Paris are going to study hall." She said.

"Sure." She smiled at me one more time then turned on her heels and walked away. Instead of questioning her sudden friendliness I just shrugged it off and made my way to the lunchroom. Lauren had a doctors appointment so her dad picked her up early.

I finally made it to the lunchroom and instantly regretted coming. Dani was sitting at her usual table with Alec, they looked happy and smug together. I'm not going to lie, I did get a little jealous seeing them together. She should be with me not the new kid.

I sat down and tried my best for make myself as comfortable as possible. This is so awkward, Lauren is practically eye-raping the poor bloke.

"So Alex, where's your witch err I mean girlfriend?" Miranda asked me. I rolled my eyed and flipped her off.

"She had a doctors appointment so her dad picked her up." I said.

"Poor baby probably has fleas." Dani chuckled. I ignored their laughing and looked at Alec who was watching me for some reason.

"Hey I'm Alec." Wow he can speak. He let go of Dani's hand and reached over the table to shake mine.

"I'm Alex." I said firmly grasping his hand and shaking it.
