Wildflower

She's a wildflower amongst roses
Not like the others
Yet still as beautiful
But in a different way
No fancy velvet petals
Nor romanticized scents
Just purple silken stipules
And musky forest perfume
She's not expensive
Nor is she picked often
But that's okay
Left where she belongs
Thriving in all her graceful glory
May she grow stronger
She's been battered by icy winters
but she comes back every spring
That's what makes her beautiful
Her will, her strength, her heart
And someday
Someone will pick her
And care for her
For she is beautiful because she is who she is
