Nefera cries out. She does not cry without reasons. She is silent like a hermitess. The first time she cried was when she wanted to go to her father. But her father did not hold her in his hands. Hands! He has his only hand which has no strength. He only eats, drinks and writes letters with his one hand. Sometimes Asiya feeds him.
Pharaoh feels that his little Nefera gets upset when she finds out that her father can not lift her. Whenever he gets back from court or his chamber, she goes to him stretching her little hands towards him, calling him "Papa." But he can not hold her or lift her.
Pharaoh Anmtre can not take it anymore. He shares this sad matter with his queen. But Asiya curtly replies, "Don't tell me about this. Why? Did you think about the future? What you did to me is done. Neither I nor you can get back to the past and fix the things happened during that day. But the fault is yours, Anmatre. It was you that made me suffer by forcing that crime upon me. Not only that, you also made yourself suffer by punishing you in this way." She stops for a little moment only to begin,
"Why did you not think that you could make me pregnant that day and then punish yourself in this day for such a little thing? You could only imprison me in dangeon or execute me. That would help a lot of people. Also you would not cut your hand.May be your children would not born then and they would not want you this much to hold them."
With that she cries embracing Pharaoh. Anmatre tries to stop her crying by holding her in a tight embrace.
Now Asiya is not crying anymore. She wipes her eyes with the back of her palm. Then she holds Anmatre's hand. She pulls the Pharaoh, surprizing him. He follows her. Infront of the nursery they stop. Asiya pushes the double doors of the nursery. Together they step in. Telling Pharaoh to wait in the garden in front of the nursery, Asiya goes to Nefera. Her younger daughter is very happy to see her.
"Mama!" She calls her.
In reply Asiya smiles at her. Holding her in her lap she goes outside.
"Where we goin, Mama?" Nefera asks in her childish manner.
"Mama will not tell you. Because that is a surprize." Asiya replies crossing the steps of the stairs that lead to the garden.
Nefera becomes happy. For the first time she is going to get a surprize. She smiles showing Asiya her only 2 baby teeth.
Now they are in the garden. There they see Pharaoh leaning against a tree. Pharaoh also notices them. Asiya goes to him.
"Come, Anmatre. Hold your daughter. Come! I will help you." She encourages her Pharaoh.
Anmatre goes to Asiya. He holds Nefera with his only hand. Asiya also holds the child so that she does not fell from Anmatre's weak hold. Nefera is very happy. Suddenly she starts to slip from her father's weak hold. Asiya uses her other hand to save her daughter. At this Pharaoh becomes afraid that he might hurt Nefera.
"I am afraid that I might hurt Nefera. Please take her in your lap." He tells Asiya.
At this Asiya swings Nefera to take her in her lap. Nefera enjoys the swinging and begins to laugh. Anmatre watches them go. With a delighted mind he returns to his works. Today he is the happiest man in the world who, after many years, holds one of his children. None can feel the happiness of Pharaoh of Egypt, of such a powerful kingdom.
