After dropping Tyler off at Chuck E. Cheese, I just drove off not knowing where to go. I went to Starbucks and just sat there reading a book and drinking coffee for an hour and a half. I looked like a loner.
I bought 3 coffees the whole time I was there. That's bad, I know, but I had nowhere to go and nothing to do.
Then my phone suddenly rang, finally Tyler is done!
Never mind. It was Nathan. But yay! Something to do!
"Hello?"
"Hey, why haven't you called?"
I though for a moment. Why haven't I? "Why haven't you called me?"
It was quiet for a little while, "I've been busy."
"Well, then, so have I."
"What have you been doing?"
"I...um...I...uh...stuff?" I offered.
"Yeah, Mmhmm, have you been partying?"
Crap. "No."
"Julia, you can tell me the truth. I already know you have. And who partys on a Tuesday?"
I laughed but then scrunched my eyebrows, "Apparently some people do." I paused for a minute, "How did you know I partied on a Tuesday?"
"Well, after a while of boredom I went on Instagram. I was scrolling down pretty far and saw a picture of you with a beer bong."
I face palmed myself, "Nathan, I'm so sorry. Cindy got me drunk, I didn't want to continue though. She just kept making me drink. Then I just got drunk and did a beer bong and-"
"It's okay, I'm happy to know you're having fun down there."
I smiled then realized he can't see me, "Thanks. Who posted the picture?"
"Oh, that reminds me, it was Cindy. I went in her profile and saw more pictures of you."
I slammed my face on the table and mumbled into the phone, "What did you see?"
I heard him chuckle, "I saw you dancing on a table, and I saw the video of you and the beer bong. You were screaming and everything. It was great!"
I rolled my eyes and sighed, "I feel like an idiot."
"Yeah, but you're my idiot."
Picking my head up from the table I smiled, "Gee, thanks. That means a lot." He chuckles. "So, what have you been doing?" I asked.
"I've been...um..."
"Nathan...?" I drew out his name knowing he's not telling me something.
"Huh...fine. I haven't been going to school ever since you left."
"What?!" I looked around noticing people's eyes on me. I looked down at my coffee and yelled quietly, "What?!"
"Yeah. I just miss you so much. I've been at home eating and watching TV. That's why I haven't been calling you. I didn't want to tell you what I've been doing with my time and lie about it."
I sigh, "Same. I didn't want to tell you about what I'm doing down here."
I hear Nathan laugh, "Oh Julia. It's just a party."
Well, that's not it. I didn't want to lie to him about going all detective with John and the holes. "Yeah, well..."
"It's okay, I'll talk to you later. Bye, love you."
