Chapter 4 "moonclan"

     I went running to this huge forest I saw! I kept thinking about the rouge that helped me. Though he acted....odd. I paused and sniffed the air and sighed. I could smell a lot of different scents mixed in with the smell of foxes. I slowly padded down the hill and carefully made my way through the forest. There was a huge river that ran into a thick part of the forest. I looked in it and saw a school of fish swim swiftly by. I looked deeper in the river and saw it was pretty deep. I backed away from the river knowing that if I drowned, no one would hear or care to save me. I walked in the opposite direction to a forest that was...black. I was careful with each paw step I took. There was no grass; all the trees looked withered and black. There was also a heavy, smoky stench in the air and the sound of cawing crows made me jump. This was a scary part of the forest that I wished I had not entered.

"Wait, I smell rouge" I heard a cat yowl.

I suddenly booked it to a greener part of the forest. I was being chased by a handsome looking pale tom. He looked about my size. He was fast too and pounced on me. I was pinned down and scared for my life.

"Who are you and how dare you enter fire clan territory" he hissed.

"I'm sorry" I said almost in tears "I didn't know-I was just passing through"

I looked at me suspicious but, let me go.

"What’s your name rouge" he hissed.

"Dark" I said licking the nasty dirt off of my flame tabby coat.

"That’s an odd name" he said rudely.

I glared at him.

"Oh, so do you have a better name?" I hissed.

"Yes, much better than...dark" he said standing up "my name is sandpaw"

I bursted out in laughter "that’s a stupid name"

"Well, I haven’t earned my warrior name yet" he said "I was made an apprentice today"

My ears twitched.

"You should go, make sure that you don't get caught by a warrior" he said before disappearing across the dusty floor. I coughed and shook the rest of the dust out of my fur. I began walking again. I was pretty close to a greener part of the forest.

I'm never going in there again. What’s with that cat, he has problems, I thought to myself.

     I saw a couple of starling pecking at the ground. I hurried and crouched down; I couldn't resist this hunting opportunity! I kept my tail really still and slowed my breathing. I slowly made my way to the starling. I was careful not to step too hard on the grass, knowing that there were twigs everywhere. I placed my paw down and Snap! The starlings looked at me and flew away in a hurry. I looked down and saw a twig snapped under my paw.

FOX DUNG! I hissed to myself.

"You might want to watch where you step"

I looked up in the tree tops and saw a black and red tom staring at me in amusement.

"Why do you care" I hissed.

He chuckled "not that friendly are ya'?"

I hissed.

He laughed and hopped down from the tree. He was quit muscular and had deep amber eyes. I was now terrified of this cat, he looked small in the tree.

"What’s your name and what brings you here" he asked sitting down.

I paused and gulped "m-my name is dark, and I think my sisters ran this way"

He paused and was thinking. There was a long, awkward pause between us.

"Were their names um.....I think swan and flower?" he asked.

"YES, YES!" I shouted "Those are my sisters, where did they go!?"

I was about to run when my tail was held down. I looked at the cat with his huge paw on my tail.

"Calm down kit" he said with a hiss in his voice "here, I’ll show you but-"

"But what?" I asked.

"But, are you brave enough to enter into a clan camp?" he asked with a small smirk on his face.

I twitched my ear "heck yeah!"

"Well, then" he said picking me up by the scruff of my neck.

I squirmed.

"Easy" he said.

I stopped and sighed. He walked to a huge rock mountain and set me down. I looked at him curious.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

    He chuckled then picked me up again. He walked in an ivy covered wall the was actually a secret entrance. There was a long tunnel and I could see the grass was flattened so I knew that this was the main entrance. There was a small light at the end of the tunnel that grew bigger as we walked closer. Soon a bright light overcame me and I was blinded. When I opened my eyes I saw tons of cats everywhere. Some had scars, others were muscular. The tom walked me to a cave that was almost at the top of the rock mountain. He set me down and he looked at me.

"Stay here" he said before disappearing into the cave. I sat there and waited.

After a few minuets a silver she-cat with white patches on her pelt stepped out with the tom at her side. She had one blue eye and one green eye, which I found strange. She gazed at me.

"Applestep, what am I going to do with you" she said "you keep bringing home rouges"

"their kits" said the tom which I had guessed his name was applestep" you can't expect them to survive too long on their own Gemstar"

Gemstar sighed "fine, we'll keep her, but this is the last rouge were taking in"

"Don’t worry" he said.

The she-cat hopped over to a huge tree.

"What’s that?" I asked.

"That’s the sky oak" said applestep "that’s where Gemstar calls clan meetings"

My eyes light up "cool!"

"ALL CATS OLD ENOUGH TO CATCH THEIR OWN PREY, JOIN HERE BENETH THE SKYOAK FOR A CLAN MEETING!" shouted Gemstar.

"Why is she calling a meeting?" I asked.

"She’s going to make you a apprentice" he said.

"What’s that?" I asked.

"Your mentor will explain" he said.

Cats gathered around the huge tree and started murmuring. Appleleap nudged me to Gemstar. I gulped and walked to her.

"What’s your name?" she asked softly.

"Dark" I said.

She sighed and began to speak.

"Cats of moon clan, Appleleap has yet again brought home another rouge to the clan" shouted Gemstar.

"Again!?"

"But, the clan is in need of apprentices and I would like to make this she-cat a apprentice" said Gemstar.

"From this day she will be called darkpaw!"

Otay! I know I haven’t updated this story in like forever. I'm going to try to make this my main focus. Oh, next chapie isn't going to be a chappie, it's going to be an alliances. So hope you like darkheart so far (until later maybe) so please comment, vote and fan!
