Chapter 5 "traning"

A/n: sorry 4 u guys to read this but, i want to make this story my main focus(though i might upload a few others) cause i want to get it done by Christmas! I really want to start on maplekits super edition but, i think i have my hands a bit full right now. Oh and cats of the clans will be hopefully out soon.

"darkpaw"

I heard appleleap nudge me awake. I groaned, i was only made an apprentice last night! But i luckily got to see flowerpaw and swanpaw before i fell flat on my face with exhaustion. They were quit happy and i knew we couldn't leave. My best friend here other than swanpaw is silverpaw and thislefern. They are so nice to me and i hope they become mates soon. I would love to play with their kits! I slowly got up and stretched. I yawned and looked at appleleap.

"okay, i'm up" i said.

"okay" he said.

I sighed and stood up from my nest. I walked out into the bright sunlight of the entrance of the den. I was outside and could tell that the clan was just barley waking up and getting to their normal duties. I saw flowerpaw race toward me excited.

"can i help show darkpaw around?" asked flowerpaw "along with you of course"

"Maybe" said apleleap.

"okay, so are we going to explain?" asked flowerpaw.

"i'll explain" hissed appleleap.

I could tell appleleap was a little annoyed with my sister. We walked over to a huge den, there were lots of scents that i could scent from inside the den. 

"this is the warriors den" he said in a low voice "this is where you'll sleep once your a warrior"

I nodded. Flowerpaw grabbed my ear and took me over to a moss covered hill that had a huge scent of herbs. Appleleap hurried to catch up and glared at flowerpaw.

"thi-this is the medicine cat den" said applestep out of breath.

"whats a medicine cat?" i asked curious.

"their special cats that are taught on how to heal us if we get hurt in battle or get sick" said appleleap.

"but, medicine cats can never have any kits" said flowerpaw "its against the medicine cat code"

i nodded slowly. I wondered what it would be like to become a medicine cat. Flowerpaw leaped over to a small hole in the base of the rock mountain. I padded over to her and appleleap. Appleleap nudged his head over to the hole. I peeked in and saw the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. The little, furry bundles of tiny pelts warmed my heart. Kits were so precious. I had just found out that gemstar had a few kits of her own. I sighed as they were all asleep.

"their adorable" i said in a soothing voice.

Appleleap giggled. He walked over to the fresh-kill pile. I sat down next to him. Flowerpaw sat close to me.

"As a apprentice" began appleleap "you must train in hunting and battle to help fight for your clan"

I stared at amazement. He began talking about a 'warrior code', this was quit foreign to me and i made sure to pay attention.

"and lastly" he said giving a sigh "you must never EVER take a mate from another clan"

I wondered why couldn't we. Moon clan was pretty small, but i'd have to decide that at the gathering in a couple of days. Gemstar said that is might be able to go, if i do good on my traning that is.

"So" said appleleap leading me into the long, ivy covered tunnel "let Begin your training"

I leaped out of the bushes and landed on the squirrel, square on the head. I hurried and gave a killing bite, like appleleap told me to. Once i knew for sure the squirrel was dead, i picked it up in my strong jaws and carried it over to appleleap.He sat there, a bit impatient for me to return.

Once he saw my tail, a hiss came out of his throat.

"darkpaw, you can't take off like that!" he hissed.

He didn't realize the huge squirrel i caught till i had reached him. I set in down between his paws.

"sorry" i said bowing my head "i couldn't help myself"

Appleleap looked at the squirrel then at me. He sighed and stood up.

"i'll allow it just for today" he said "but, next time i expect you to not take off again, understand darkpaw"

I nodded and picked up my squirrle. He started walking away. I followed him to the entrance of camp. I could hear a loud yowling and screaching coming from camp. I smelt another scent i did not recognize. Appleleap froze and crouched down. I crouched down with him.

"darkpaw" he said in a shaky voice "fire clan is attacking camp!"
