Chapter 7 "Brokenstar"

I awoke to swanpaw  poking me. I looked at her and twitched my ear.

"gemstar has called a meeting" she said.

I sighed.

"okay" i replied standing up.

I shook the dirt out of my fur and followed swanpaw to the clearing. Most of moonclan was gathered near the sky oak.

"it must be silverpaw's warrior cerenomy" i whispered.

"i hope so" said swanpaw.

We sat down in the back. In the corner of my eye, i saw a brown figure standing in the tree tops. I turned my head and found nothing. It must have been a figment of my imagination. i foucused on gemstar and what she had to say.

"now, cats on moonclan" she anouced "blackstep has decited to retire to the elders den"

I could understand blackstep. His mate died while kittening and both kits died due to being born late. He was now a grumpy old tom that just mopped around.

"also, Barleyfoot, do you belive that silverpaw has completed her traning?"

"i knew it" i whispered to swanpaw.

"whatever" she replied rolling her eyes.

"yes" replied the grey tabby warrior.

"well then" said gemstar looking at excited silverpaw "silverpaw, do you promise to uphold and protect the warrior code, even through your life?"

"i do gemstar" said silverpaw about to burst with excitment.

"then by the power of starclan, sliverpaw, from this day forward you shall be known as, silverpoint!" anouced gemstar.

"SILVERPOINT, SILVERPOINT!" we all shouted.

I was walking through the forest. i was on a hunting assesment. Appleleap Had told me to go west of fireclan terirotiry near the thunderpath. Mum had always told us about the thunderpath. No cat should ever cross it unless they want to be killed. Mum said that this was called a high-way where monsters drive really fast, faster on here than a normal thunder path. I padded over and saw a huge monster whish by and smelt awful. The stench went into my eyes so that i could not see. I blinked a couple of times and finally reganined my sight. I shook the dirt the the monster had thrown on my fur off. I knew i had to do good cause this was my warrior assesment. It had been two moons since silverpoint had earned her name. My sisters were getting there's today. I knew i had to do good. I walked along the black feild of the thunderpath and saw the biggest squirel ever. It just ran right into me and i grabbed it by the neck and snapped it. I dragged the squirle to a tree and burried it. When i was done i heard a hiss right ubove me. I looked up and saw the brown cat that had helped me go to the clans.

"you got lucky" he hissed.

"hi" i said.

"so..." he said climbing down from the tree "did you find your sisters?"

"Yep" i replied "thanks to you"

I looked puzzled at him.

"why are you here?" i asked.

"i need your help" he said circling me.

"i-i can't leave right now" i protested "i'm in the middle of my warrior assesment"

"Listen" he hissed "i need you to 'take care of' a cat"

"i-i-"

"don't worry, he's just a useless apprentice" he said.

"i have to hunt for the clan" i hissed "it leaf-bare and-"

"remember your promise" he hissed.

I froze. I remembered the promise i made. I couldn't break my promise....or my loyalty to the clan.

"well?"

"fine" i hissed "i'll do it if you leave me alone"

"Were not going to do it today" he said "but, i'l send a large tabby to pick you up, ask him for his name  and if he says tigerclaw, follow him"

The tom started to walk awa from me when i hissed at him.

"what your name" i hissed.

He slightly turned around "brokenstar"

Thats al he said before he dissapered. I stood there shocked. What have i done!

I Couldn't hunt any more so i dug up my squirrle and headed back to camp. All i could think about was my stupid promise i made.

I watched proudly as my sisters headed up to gemstar. She smiled at them. I couldn't wait till i recived my warrior name!

"flowerpaw and swanpaw, do you promise to uphold and protect the warrior code, even with your life?" asked gemstar.

"i do" said swanpaw

"i do" said flowerpaw.

"okay then, by the power of starcla, swanpaw, from this day forward you'll be known as swanfeather and flowerpaw, from this day forward you'll be known as flowerstream, starclan horros and will protect you" said gemstar.

"FLOWERSTREAM, SWANFEATHER, FLOWERSTREAM, SWANFEATHER!" i shouted along with the clan.

I was so happy for my sisters.

"wait!" shouted berrytail. She was made a warrior yesterday along with her sisters. I stood there with anoyance.

"what is is berrytail" asked gemstar anoyed.

"I'm expecting kits!" she said.

My mouth about dropped. Why her, why now?
