Different Chapter 3

Lexi's POV

After deciding on white for the color of my furniture, we walked around for what felt like days before picking out furniture. I got a bed, a dresser, and I bedside table. Once we were finished we grabbed lunch before going to pick out a new puppy.

The minute we stepped into the pet shop I ran to the back where the puppies were. Drew walked in a minute later with a worker. We looked at about a dozen puppies before I finally found the cutest little Yorkie puppy.

I picked her up and turned to Drew. "Daddy can we get her please! Please! Please!" I begged.

He laughed at my excitement and said "Yes but remember you have to help take care of her."

"Yay! Hi puppy we're gonna bring you home with us!" I said to the puppy very excitedly.

After filling out all the required papers we got in the car and I sat her on my lap. "What do you want to name her?" Drew asked.

"Mmmmmmm..........How about Rosie?" I suggested.

"I love it!" He said happily.

Once we walked in the door I immediately started playing with the puppy while Drew got all the bags. He stumbled through the door and I helped him put the puppy things away. When we were finished Drew asked if two of his friends could come over for band practice.

He only asked because he didn't know if I was up for meeting new people. I told him it was fine. "Daddy can we go clothes and grocery shopping tomorrow because we forgot to go today."

"Yeah sweetheart we can go tomorrow so why don't you go shower real quick."

"Okay." I replied before going upstairs.

Drew's POV

I heard the shower going and decided to call Wes.

"Hey man. What's up?" he replied after the third ring.

"Do you and Keats want to come over for band practice?"

"Sure! I would also like to meet your daughter." He replied.

"Yeah but when you do just be gentle and distant until she warms up to you." I replied remembering her past.

"Yeah we will see you in about 5 minutes."

"Okay. Bye!" I said hanging up.

I heard the shower stop and the door open. "Daddy where are the towels?" Lexi yelled down.

"In the closet!" I replied.

I heard the closet open and close before I heard her walk into my room. Just then I heard the front door open and close.

Wes walked into the living room followed by Keaton. "Hey man." Wes said bro hugging me. Keaton did the same before Lexi came running down the stairs.

"Daddy where's Rosie?" she asked right before noticing Wes and Keaton. She walked over, grabbed my hand, and whispered who's that.

I knelt down so I was her level and introduced her. She looked nervous but Wes calmed her down when he just waved and said hello. After Keaton did the same she seemed a little less nervous.

"Where's Rosie daddy?" She asked excitedly.

"In the kitchen baby girl." I replied and watched her run off into the kitchen.

"She's so cute and she already calls you daddy?" Keaton asked.

"Yeah she's adorable and yeah she was comfortable around me after something that happened last night." I said.

They didn't push the subject any further and I was thankful for that. We decided to start band practice. After about an hour and a half Lexi came in holding Rosie and said "Daddy I'm hungry."

"Alright sweetheart do you want pizza?" I asked and she nodded. "Okay you guys want pizza?" They nodded too and I said "Okay I am going to go call. I'll be right back."

Lexi's POV

After he walked out I just petted Rosie. "Can I hold her?" Wesley asked. I just nodded and handed her to him. "She is adorable. I can't believe Drew got another puppy." I just smiled and watched as she licked his nose and cheek.

Keaton held her next and she liked him just as much as she liked Wes. Drew walked back in and said he was going to pick up the pizza so I immediately said I was going also. He nodded and we left.

We just had small talk on the way to the pizza parlor and back. Once we got back it was already 7:30. After we ate our pizza we watched a movie. When that was done it was 9:30. "Alright. We're gonna head out." Wes said. We all said our goodbyes.
