Different Chapter 9

Drew's POV

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked Lacy through gritted teeth.

"I came to see you. I miss you." She said walking closer to me. She ran her hand up my arm and I jerked away from her carefully so I didn't wake Lexi up.

"Don't touch me." I said angrily.

"You didn't mind when I touched you before." She said seductively while winking at me.

"You need to leave. You're not welcome here." I said.

"Drew I said I was sorry. Why won't you take me back?" She whined.

"Because I loved you. You said you loved me too and then I found out you had been cheating on me the whole time we were together. Our whole relationship was a lie and I meant nothing to you. You used me and left me broken. I'm finally happy so please just leave me alone." I rambled.

"I did love you and I still do. I will leave for now but I will be back soon." She winked at me before leaving.

I turned around to see Jess standing there shocked and Wes looking pissed. Before I could say anything Lexi woke up and said "Daddy my head hurts."

I felt her head and she didn't feel warm but then I remembered she hasn't eaten since breakfast this morning. "You're just hungry. Let me grab you a slice of pizza and then we will do presents and cake. Here got to Wes and I will go get your pizza real quick."

Lexi's POV

Wes took me in his arms before sitting down and setting me on his lap. Wesley looked mad. "Wesley what's wrong you look mad?"

"Don't worry about it Lex." He smiled causing me to smile to.

"What's your favorite color Wesley?"

"Blue. Why?"

"I don't know." I shrugged giggling.

"You're really cute. You know that?"

"Thank you and your pretty."

"Like a girl?"

"Uh huh." I said laughing.

"Oh really?" He asked tickling me.

"S-stop i-it W-Wesley!" I yelled between laughs.

"Say your sorry." He said.

"I-I'm s-sorry." I stuttered out. He stopped tickling me just in time because Daddy came back with my pizza. I ate most of it before I was full.

I got up and looked for daddy. I found him in the living room talking to some people I didn't know. "Daddy I'm full." I said showing him my pizza.

"Two more bites." He said. I shook my head and he said "two more or no cake." I quickly ate the two bites and held up the rest for him to eat.

He bent down and I put it his mouth after kissing his cheek. He picked me up after swallowing the pizza. "That was a really cute father-daughter moment." A girl said.

I just smiled and daddy yelled "time for presents." He put me on his lap after sitting on the chair in the living room. People started handing me gifts.

After opening a bunch of presents we had cake. Once that was done everyone went home and we went to the movies. When we got home it was already 8:15 and I was tired so I climbed on the couch, put my head in daddy's lap and fell asleep.

Lexi's POV

I woke up and my head and throat hurt. I woke up daddy by shaking him and saying "daddy wake up. I don't feel good."

He slowly opened his eyes. "What's the matter sweetheart?" He asked.

"My head and throat hurt." I whispered. He felt my forehead before picking me up and carrying me downstairs. He took my temperature and sighed.

"Alright you have a fever so we are gonna run out to the store real quick and when we get back we are going to call the doctor." He said.

I nodded and said "daddy I'm cold." He grabbed his sweatshirt from the chair by the counter and wrapped it around me before picking me and placing me in the car.

When we got to the store he picked me up with one arm and grabbed a basket with the other arm. I just laid my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.

I was carried all around the store before I heard talking. "Awww she is so cute. Is she not feeling well?" I heard a lady ask.

"No she has a fever so I gotta get her home. Thank you." I heard daddy say.

I felt him place me in the car and start driving. When the car stopped he came over and picked me up again. Once we were inside he placed me on the counter.

"Wake up baby girl. You have to take this medicine." He said. I opened my eyes but didn't talk. He gave me my medicine and I ate the tablets.

Jess walked in and Daddy told her I was sick. She said she had work and was leaving. She gave daddy a kiss before leaving.

Daddy sat on the couch and placed me in his lap after turning on Snow White. I curled up in a ball and fell asleep quickly.

Drew's POV

I look down and see she fell asleep before the movie even started. I sighed and rubbed small circles in her back until I heard the front door open.

Wes walked in and yelled hey. I looked at him and said "Shhhhh."

He looked at me confused while asking "Why is she still sleeping and why is she sleeping down here?"

"She's sick. She has a 102 degree fever." I answered.

"Awww poor thing." Right when he said that Lexi woke up.

"Daddy it hurts." She whined.

"I know baby girl just go back to sleep." I said.

"Daddy will you sing to me?" She asked sweetly. I nodded and started singing indigo. When I knew she was asleep I stopped singing and looked up to see Wes recording me.

"Why did you just record that?" I asked.

"Because that moment with your daughter was so cute." He said mocking a teenage girls voice. "No but really your a really good father."

"I've only known her for a week and I love her more than anything in the world." I said looking at her.

"Dude you've gotten soft on me." He said in all seriousness.

"I have not." I lied.

"Dude you just sang your daughter to sleep before telling me you love her more than anything in the world. You are past soft." He said causing me to laugh.

"Why are you here anyway?" I asked.

"Oh I was gonna see if you wanted to go surfing but it can wait. Do you want company because I have nothing better to do." He answered.

"Obviously if you want to hang out with your best friend and his sick, sleeping daughter." I laughed causing him to laugh too.

"Yeah shut up or I'm leaving." He said.

I just put my hands up in defense and tossed him the remote. He went to put on Insidious and I threw a pillow at him. He looked at me confused and I pointed to Lexi who was in a ball on my lap.

"Wes hand me that blanket." I said pointing to the blanket on the end of the couch. He must have noticed she was cold to because instead of handing it to me he got up and put it on her.

I thanked him and we just watched ridiculousness until we heard the front door open again.
