Jessica's POV
"Wait here. I will be right back." I said to Drew. I didn't wait for his response. I just ran in. I was zipping my last bag when I heard arguing outside. I rushed out the door with all of my things to see Drew arguing with my dad.
My dad was moving closer and closer to Drew and I was starting to panic. Drew saw me approaching them and kept my dad distracted while I put my things in the car. Once I was done I got my dad's attention.
He turned towards me and said "You little slut. Who the hell do you think you are? You killed your mother so you deserve to be killed too. I hope you die. Get off my property and never come back."
"Gladly." I said before getting in the car and slamming the door. Drew got in too and we drove off.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah. It just hurts to think that my own father would do that to me." I said.
"I understand and that's why it's so important to me that I'm a good dad to Lexi." He said.
"I know." I replied and the rest of the drive home was silent.

Lexi's POV
Once Drew left Wes suggested we watch a movie. He put on Sleeping Beauty and sat on the couch. I sat next to him, lifted his arm up, and snuggled into his chest. He didn't seem to mind. I didn't watch much of the movie because I fell asleep.
Wes's POV
I put the movie in and say down on the couch. Lexi came over, sat next to me, lifted my arm up, and cuddled into my side. I didn't question her. I just let her because she was finally warming up to me.
I saw she fell asleep so I carried her upstairs and laid her in Drew's bed. About 45 minutes later Drew walked in carrying 3 suitcases I grabbed 1 and asked where they were going. He said in the living room for now so we just put them there.
"Where's Lexi?" He asked.
"In your room, asleep." I answered.
"No, no, no." He said running up the stairs.
Drew's POV
I ran upstairs to see her crying, sweating, and shaking. I shook her awake and she started crying harder. I picked her up, laid down, and laid her on my chest.
"Shhhh baby girl. Your okay." I whispered. She held onto me for dear life. She finally calmed down a little bit but was still shaking.
"Daddy it was so scary." she said.
"I know baby girl but he can't hurt you anymore." I said meaning every word.
After she calmed down completely she said "Daddy I'm hungry."
"Alright come on we will eat and go to the beach." I said picking her up. She wrapped her legs around my torso and buried her head in the crook of my neck.
When we got down stairs Wes looked up at me confused. "I'm sorry Wes I should have mentioned she can't sleep alone." I said.
"It's alright. You just got me really worried there for a second." He responded.
"We're gonna eat and go to the beach. Do you wanna come?" I asked.
"Nah spend time with your new daughter and the girl we all know you like." He said causing Jess to blush.
We went to the kitchen and had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Then me and Jess got ready for the beach. Once we were ready we walked out the back door and say our stuff down on the beach.

After we were done playing on the beach we went out and grabbed dinner. When we got home we watched a movie and Lexi fell asleep. I kissed Jess goodnight and brought Lexi upstairs with me. I laid her down and got ready for bed.
Once I laid down she woke up. "Daddy when do I have to go to school?" she asked.
"It's only July so two months, why?"
"Because I don't want to spend a day without you. I would miss you too much." She replied on the verge of tears.
"Baby girl, your only gone for 8 hours. I will see you in the morning and take you to school and pick you up and we will spend every night together." I said.
"Okay. Daddy I love you."
"I love you too." I said kissing the top of her head. She snuggled into my side and fell asleep.

Lexi's POV
I woke up cuddled into Daddy's side. "Daddy wake up!" I yelled jumping on him. His eyes opened and he looked at me before flipping us over and tickled my sides.
"Ahhhhhhh! Daddy stop it!" I yelled laughing.
"Nope. You woke me up." He said laughing.
"I'm s-sorry." I stuttered between laughs.
"I forgive you. Good morning sunshine." He responded happily.
"Morning Daddy." I said kissing his cheek.
"Do you know what tomorrow is sweetheart?" He asked.
"Nope." I replied.
