Sam POV

"But Dad I have a test tomorrow." I said trying to keep my cool as I sat at a table in some shitty hotel room with my text books.

"Really Sam? Are you that selfish? You would rather worry about school than saving peoples lives." John spoke harshly.

"Com' on dad. We both know that once I'm out of highschool I'm done. I didn't chose this life." I said getting fired up.

"No Sam you just can't handle this life that is what your problem is."

"You're right I can't handle burying innocent people who got killed. We. can't save everyone." I said feeling my blood start to simmer.

"Boy don't talk back to me and get your ass in the car." John said in a low voice.

I glanced at Dean and noticed from his eyes he didn't want us to fight. He just wanted to kill this demon and move on. "Fine." I spat.

"Good. Now this sort of demon isn't common and has rarely ever been seen." John spoke.

"Why?" Dean asked pushing off the wall to look at the research.

"Because its claws are venomous. Kills a man in a day or so tops, only way to save them is to clean the wound out with holy water." John beamed at Dean.

'He never looks at me like that. Oh wait that's because Dean us his perfect little soldier and I'm just his burden.' I thought grabbing a bag and walking out to the impala. I threw the bag in the trunk and got in the back. The ride consisted of John telling us the plan over and over again. We would walk in search the area and if we found it, sneek up on it and kill the bitch.

We arrived at an abandoned wood mill that couldn't look less creepier. The three of us geared up and Dean and I took the front while John took the back.

We walked down a long damp hallway with our knife out and ready. Dean tapped my shoulder and nodded to a room up ahead with a light slithering out from it. We quietly walked till we got to the door and sure enough there it was.

Just then we saw John come around the corner and signal to Dean to wait. ' Of course to Dean. He couldn't care less if I went in there and got my self killed.'

John approached and looked in the door nodding and quietly entering followed by Dean and I. Just then I slipped on a piece of damp moss causing a loud thud when I fell injuring my shoulder.

The demon was instantly on John and threw him into the wall knocking him unconscious. It turn to Dean who was to preoccupied watching Dad. It raked its nails on Deans side and he let out a painful cry before swiping at it and missing. By then I had gotten up and moved to catch a now falling Dean.

I gently set him down and felt stinging and flesh splitting on my back. I knew then my best bet was to jam my knife up and behind to kill. And that's what I did and faced the demon watching the light fade from the eyes of its vessel.
