The classes droned on and the burning got worse. Finally the lunch bell rang and I slowly stood up and walked down the halls to the cafeteria. My vision blurred slightly and I blinked a couple times returning it to normal.

I walked past all the food and sat down at an empty table. I pressed my burning skin to the cool table top and closed my eyes. 'Can't go home. Can't go home....Shouldn't go home.' I throught and wondered how Dean was.

"Are you okay?" A soft voice asked right next to me.

My head snapped up and I looked to my left. "I'm fine." I mumbled.

She gave me an uncertain look before sitting down next to me. "I'm Jess." She said.

"I'm Sam." I smiled slightly.

"I've seen you in some of my classes and around in the halls."

An interesting conversation bloomed then and for a moment I could forget the real world. I learned we were both planning on getting out of here and going to Sanford. But it all ended to soon and the bell rang signalling the next class.

"Bye Sam, see you tomorrow." Jess said getting up and leaving.

"See you then." I said watching her long wavy blonde hair flow behind her back.

Two more classes just two more. I sat in the chair leaning on the desk. The rest of the class I felt like I was in a daze until the bell pulled me out.

I sighed and got up heading to my next class, Gym. 'Oh joy. Yes lets put Sam in some extra pain today.' But then words ringed in my head saying 'Weak' and 'Burden.' This caused my to stalk off to the locker room and change out.

"Alright ladies! 4 laps around the track. Lets go!" The coach yelled

I started of running with my fellow classmates. The only thing pushing me to keep running was that voice calling me 'the weak link in the family'.  Finally I stumbled to the finish and coach gave us a few more exercisises until class was done.

I dressed back in my regular clothes swaying.

"Hey Sam you alright man?" One class mate called to me.

"What? Oh yeah I'm fine." I called back.

"You sure? You're pretty pale."

"Yeah guess I'm just a little out of shape." I chuckled playing it off as a joke when really I felt like passing out but at least school was done.

I got my books and headed towards the front door but stopped at familiar voice calling my name.

"Sam? Wait up." Jess called.

"Hey Jess."

"Sam why is there blood on you shirt?" She asked her eyes growing wide.

"Blood? Oh I fell during gym and scratched it." I lied and shrugged my jacket on.

"Oh I just thought I should tell you."

"Thank you Jess." I said turning and leaving.

I wished I could talk to her longer I really did but I could feel myself becoming weaker and dizzier by the moment.
