Chapter Thirty-One

I sat at the picnic table with Happy as we talked and sipped on our beers, unlike the other day, today was sunny and nice but even if the sun was nice it got hot and I mean hot really fast. It was almost to 30 degrees and it kept rising every hour, I of course dressed for the weather in a small white crop top and jean shorts and still I was sweating, Hap though I guess didn't catch the drift that it gets hot in California so he had on his signature white t-shirt, jeans, boots, and kutte.

He was sweating and I could tell but I did offer him to go inside but he denied it so if he was going to be stubborn I was going to let him "Donna called me and said she had to go see her mom for the day and asked if I could take care of the kids" I spoke and turned to Happy "alright what are you going to get them with? You still ain't got a car" Happy asked as he put a pair of sunglasses over his eyes.

"Opies bringing them here and then Gemma is gonna drive us down to the pool for the day to cool off and someone will pick us up later, maybe Juice" as soon as I said Juice Happy turned to me and slid the toothpick from side to side between his lips "you and him alright?" He asked "I'm not sure yet, it's kinda my decision wether we are or not." I stood up from the table when I saw Opies car pull into the lot "here they are" I sang lightly as Happy scoffed behind me, I turned around to him and kissed him quickly.

"I gotta get changed and stuff so I'll see you later" I said and kissed his cheek  then left to go see the Ellie and Kenny, they both had on their swimsuits and flip flops as they walked out me "hey" I waved as Opie climbed out of the truck "hey thanks for watching the kids for the day means a lot" Opie said as he handed me over a pool bag "awe it's nothing I love your kids" I smiled to the two children who stood beside their dad slightly awkward and uncomfortable.

"Alright you two behave and put on sunscreen, I'll pick them up around six tonight" I waved to Opie as he drove off and left us out in the parking lot heat "Alright we can go inside for a second so I can grab my things and then we can go, is that alright?" They both exchanged looks to each other then nodded. They both walked behind me awkwardly into the clubhouse with almost nervous looks on there faces.

As I led them inside and they noticed Piney their reactions changed to glad as they ran towards him and hugged him "watch them for a second? I need to grab my shit" I said as Piney nodded and ruffed Kenny's hair. I ran to my room and quickly grabbed my bag but as I leaned down to grab it I felt an unsettling sensation in my stomach rise to my throat as I soon ran to the bathroom and to the toilet to throw up whatever was coming up, almost three minutes passed until I finally stopped. That's weird I thought.I wiped my mouth and walked back out to the bar not thinking much of it and grabbing Kenny and Ellie then left to the pool.

"Thanks Talia really saved our asses today" Opie shook my hand as he closed the passenger door to his truck "anytime Opie we had a blast today" the moon casted a slight shadow and a darker almost scarier look to him. He climbed into the truck and I watched the fluorescent red tail lights drive out of the lot and disappear behind the corner, I turned around and walked into the club house and the surprising quietness of the clubhouse shocked me.

Tonight the building only held me, Half Sack, Happy, Juice, And Chibs but everyone except me and Half Sack were already passed out in their rooms from the long and hard day they had today, I began to walk by Half Sack behind the bar but his voice calling me stopped me immediately.

"Yeah Half Sack" I asked "uh I cleaned your room today" he spoke quietly and tried to lean closer to me over the bar top, I raised an eyebrow to him "do I need to pay you for that?" I asked "what?no of course not" he shook his head "well then Half Sack" I walked to the bar top and leaned on the table close to him"then what the actual fuck are you saying?" I smirked and laughed slightly.

"I saw the vomit in the toilet" he said quickly, it took me a second for me to understand what he was saying then the memory of me rushing into the bathroom this morning clicked in my head "oh shit sorry about that" I said slightly embarrassed but the look on his face wasn't disgust it was a questioning one "what?" I asked.

He reached under the table and handed me a white small box when I flipped it to the other side I saw it read 'pregnancy test' I looked back up to him "Jesus Sack I am not pregnant" I tossed the box back to the counter "are you sure?" He asked. I wanted to say yes, I really did, but I couldn't the thought of it could have been possible me and Happy haven't exactly been carful.

Hesitantly I reached and grabbed the box again and slipped it into my back pocket, I ran to the closest bathroom down the hall and unboxed it carefully then read over the instructions. I released onto the stick and placed it on the counter quickly, the five minutes felt like five years and finally when the five minutes were up I almost just wanted to swipe the test off the sink counter and into the garbage but shakily I moved my hand to the stick and brought it to my face to reveal the result....
