I sipped some more of the coffee from the smiley-face mug that Dr. Selvig had given me. He came and sat across from me. He took a large gulp of his decaf and set the mug down.
"Jane should be back soon, and we will get you back there. Oh, here she is now." He stated as a girl around twenty two walked in, followed by another younger looking girl. The first girl, who I guessed was Jane gave me a quick smile, and pulled Dr. Selvig to the corner. I decided to eavesdrop.
"Who is that?" She worriedly asked.
"Oh she is working with Shield, and I told her that we would drive her to the base down here."
"Yeah, we'll take her there, and have them turn her over to Nick Fury. The whole city is being shut down to look for a girl. They say she's a runaway." Jane whispered. I casually walked over to them, with my hands in my pockets.
"Is there a problem?" I innocently questioned. Jane gave me a very fake smile and turned towards the door.
"No, there's no problem. Lets get going. Come on Darcy." She practically dragged Darcy to the car. I hopped in the back seat, closed the door, and the car started up.

After about an hour of driving, Jane pulled up to a little motel in the middle of nowhere. There was no parking lot, there was only a blinking neon sign. I huffed a discontented breath and unbuckled.
"You know, this doesn't look like any Shield base that I've ever seen. Cause most of them have agents, or planes, or ya know a freaking building!" I sarcastically stated.
"It looks bigger from the inside." She said over her shoulder as she walked towards the little hotel. As soon as she opened the door, the smell of mildew and mold filled my nose and it made me gag. Jane casually stepped up to the counter, and rang the dusty bell. An older lady came out from the maintenance room, and hobbled to the counter.
"Yes?"
"Um, we would like to know what time breakfast is tomorrow morning."
"7:30 to 11:00."
"We will take room fifteen."
The little old lady hobbled over to the wall, and grabbed a gold key. Instead of handing it to Jane, she slipped it into a keyhole behind the counter. A door swung open, revealing an underground tunnel. A very high-tech underground tunnel. I hesitantly followed Jane into the tunnel, while Darcy went back out to the car. I kept my hand on the rail for the five minute descent down the stairs.
Once we reached the bottom of the stairs, we were greeted by two muscular guards, who gestured us on through the double doors. Jane pushed through, and I gasped as my eyes met Nick, my brother, and three other Shield agents. I began to back up, trying to somehow disappear from sight. Fury walked over, and grabbed my arm.
"Hey, he's the one who said that I should follow him!" I whined. Dallas gave me a dirty look. The same one he used when I would tattle to mom, shock mixed with confusion and a little bit of anger.
"Oh I already dealt with him, it's you who is going to be in trouble now. Just wait until we get back to the ship." Fury stated coldly. Jane stayed quiet through the whole ordeal, and as soon as I rounded the corner, two guards escorted her out. I whisked my arm from Fury's grasp, and kept my head down.
'How did you even know that I left?' I thought. He turned his head in my direction as we were walking.
"Did you ever think that our facilities might have cameras?" He answered. I kicked the floor aimlessly and kept trotting. A door abruptly opened, and I ran into the person who was rushing out. We both were knocked down, and I sighed loudly. Slowly, I looked up and saw a girl give me a dirty look and she stood up and walked away.
Nick gave me a hand up and I nodded my head at him. We walked into a large room with people milling around a helicopter. He waved me towards it and we jumped inside. I strapped myself in and slumped in the chair. I yawned, and closed my eyes. Well, until the rotors picked up speed and I jolted up. Fury smiled. I huffed an annoyed breath and turned around.
"So why is this interrogation my problem?" I yelled over the wind rushing through the copter.
"Because you're the only mind reader we've got. So this task falls to you." Fury called back. I let that sink into my brain, when the most stupid question to ask came to mind.
"Who is it?" I questioned anyways. I could hear the answer in his head before he even said it.
"That's confidential information. You'll know soon enough." He said flatly. I rolled my eyes and stared out the open side of the helicopter.
