A rude awakening is an understatement. He walked in, shook me violently, and yelled 'Rise and shine, bird girl'. I groaned and sat up. My back made me grimace in pain. My vision went dotted with spots, and I decided to lay back down.

"You ok?" He asked from across the room. I didn't want to talk, so I sent him a mind message. 'I can't sit up, and my back is killing me.' He came over and helped me sit up. The second time I attempted to get up, my back hurt still, but surprisingly less. My eyes weren't met by spots this time.

He abruptly returned to the kitchen and kept fixing something that smelled delicious. I really didn't think, much less expect that the meal was for me so I decided to delve into his mind. I slowly melded my consciousness with his, and began to look. Thoughts, emotions, and actions washed over me until I found the thing I was looking for. A friend was going to be here soon. A scientist. Green. An Avenger. Ah, the Hulk.

I outwardly smiled and withdrew from his mind. "So when is Dr. Banner getting here?" I asked. He whipped around and stared at me. I grinned. "I'm a mind reader too." I heard him mutter something, in his mind, 'This girl just keeps gets better and better'. I rolled my eyes. "Heard that." I proclaimed sarcastically. I finally stood up and walked over to him.

"I'd like to be nice and clean before he gets here. Can I maybe-"

"If you have to, the shower is the third door on the right down the second hallway. Don't use up all of the soap." He sighed heavily. I shrugged and found my way into the bathroom.

Before I got in, I remembered that the clothes that I was wearing were the only ones I had, so I looked through some other rooms and found some other girls clothing. I picked out some brown cargo boots, a pair of dark skinny jeans, and a light green military style jacket with a navy blue t-shirt.

Once I had gotten dried off and dressed, I began combing through my knotted hair. It took me a good twenty minutes to get my curly brown hair back to normal. I also "borrowed" some mascara and foundation, and the shade almost matched my skin tone perfectly.

I came out of the bathroom to hear the sound of talking. No, not just talking, but laughter. I didn't think Tony even knew how to laugh. I listened closely to the other voice, it was Dr. Banner who was out there with him. I tugged the collar of the jacket closer to my neck and walked out to meet them. I almost hid back behind the couch, until I realized that Bruce wasn't here in person. He was talking to Stark by computer. So I casually walked out and Tony began to end the call.

"So, again, when is he getting here?" I persisted. He held something in his hands.

"In about three hours, why?" He asked, gesturing for me to go over to him. He helped me up onto the table and slowly helped me take off my jacket. He began wrapping my injured arm. I shot him a hesitant smile while he grabbed a pair of scissors.

"What are those for?" I asked standoffishly.

"You'll see." He walked behind me and cut two slits in my jacket and shirt, so my wings would fit through. Was he actually being thoughtful? 'Thank you' I thought. "Well, don't get used to things like that. I just finished my part of the deal, now it's your turn."

I cleared my throat. "The energy comes from," I lowered my head,"the tesseract. The tesseract fuels my body. There, I answered you. And that finishes out my end of the bargain, so I'm going to have to leave on that note." I say.

"Don't leave yet, Dr. Banner is coming to see you. I invited him over this morning so he could run some tests on you." He stuttered on the last few words. I felt a small amount of anger lash out, but I channeled it into devising a quick plan. I looked around the room, and saw a flash drive , I decided taking it.

"Even after I told you what Shield had done to me, you totally disregarded that and wanted more information for your own gain!" I yelled. He looked a little taken aback. I didn't care. He opened his mouth to say something, but I grabbed the flash drive and ran off of the terrace. I spread my wings and jetted towards the forrest.

I landed in a tree and looked at the label on the flash drive. It read, "Suit and technology update". It sounded important, so I slipped the thing in my pocket. I climbed down the tree, until I was close enough to the ground to jump down. I then sprang down, and rested my head against the tree. I picked up a rock that was close to my hand and I threw it towards the tree across from me.

"I hate you Tony Stark!" I yelled fiercely. I was sure that no one had heard me. I thought about the possibility that he might come looking for his little device, but I didn't care. I just wanted to forget about him.
