Max Lightwood-Bane was the youngest son of Alec and Magnus Lightwood-Bane. They were the best parents you could wish for. They always stood by his side and he knew that this would never change. He could always rely on them and was safe by their side. And he had Izzy, Simon, Clary and Jace. He couldn't remember one moment they weren't there for him.

When Max was younger he loved to train with Izzy and Jace and they showed him everything they knew and he was one of the best but when he got older he lost the interest in training and spends more time in the huge library and was together with Simon and Clary more often. Max was more for himself and he isolated himself a little bit more from his surroundings compared to when he was younger. He had his thoughts but didn't talked about it often but even when Max didn't talked about his feelings and thoughts so often he loved his family and they knew it.

But there was one person in Max' life for who he would die for in the next second, Raphael. Raphael was Max' older brother and he was a Shadowhunter not a warlock like Max but that doesn't matter for the two brothers. They weren't conected by blood but the Connection they had was so strong that just the two of them really understood it. Max couldn't imagine a life without Raphael and vise versa. Raphael was the exactly opposite of Max. He was very open and loved it to fight. But these opposites made them a powerful team.

They balanced each other perfectly out and that was very practical especially when they were on missions. When Max and Rafael were old enough to go on missions they decided to share their abilities with the alliance rune. They knew when Max weren't a Warlock they would had went through the Parabatai ceremony

NOW

...When Max opened his eyes it was early in the morning but he could hear the voices of Alec and Raphael. He stood up and snipped with his fingers. His hair was tamped and he wore a black shirt and black trousers.

This was something he definitely had from Alec. He heard Raphaels' loud laughing and rolled withhis eyes.    Max didn't know how Raphael could be so happy and full of energy at such an early hour. He grabbed one of his many books that lay around his room and went into the kitchen. When Max walked into the kitchen Alec made breakfast. It was always Alec who made breakfast but Max didn't cared because no one wanted to endure a sleepy Magnus  and on the other side Max loved Alec' Pancakes. When there was ONE thing Max could do than it was eating food. His aunts were always envy that he could eat what he wanted without getting one bit heavier.

Raphael sat at the kitchen counter and was deeply concentrated to clean his knife:" Good morning,Max." Alec had a huge smile on his face when he saw his youngest son and Max knew why. The day before his parents had a date and the whole night for themselves after a long time. Max didn't answered Alec and just nodded. He tried not to think about the things his parents had done last night. Max sat down besides his brother and opened his book where he finished last time.  Every time when he opened a book it was like he was in a whole different world and he didn't noticed his surroundings anymore. Something he had in common with Alec.

It was the same like Raphael with his weapons. When Alec turned around and looked had his sons he needed to chuckle alittle bit but so that no one heard it. He sighed and put down the plates infront of Raphael and Max:" Hay, breakfast is ready." But no reaction. Alec crossed his arms in front of his chest and when still nothing happened he got annoyed.

He rolled with his eyes, leaned forward and took the knife in one and the book in his other hand. When he took the things from the two they got backin reality:" Dad...come on." Both said at the same time:" No excuses anymore. Eat breakfast or should I wake up Magnus?" He raised his eyebrow but when both boys got wide eyes and shook their heads Alec had a smile on his face again. He sat down and they enjoyed their breakfast.

Raphael began to talk about the last mission they had but Max didn't said anything and just looked at his plate and just listened. Alec didn't need words to communicate with Max and he noticed that something was wrong. That was a connection Max had only with Alec and his Dad was really concerned:" Max, is everything okay?" And immediately Raphael was silent.

Max was surprised and coughed back and forth between Alec and Raphael:"W...what?...Yea, everything is all right." And then Max' attention wandered back at his plate and the delicious Pancakes. Alec nodded but he knew that Max didn't told the truth but on the other side Alec knew that his son would come to him when Max felt it was the right time.
