Chapter 6

Luke, Michael and me all sat down on the couch. Michael took off his back pack and pulled out tons of movies and set them down on the coffee table. My eyes widened at the amount of movies he had.

"Holy shit dude," That was all I could force out.

"I didn't know what kind of movies you liked... So I just got a bunch..." He said awkwardly. I laughed and picked up "The Conjuring" And looked at Michael's bright green eyes.

"Horror." Michael smiled and took the movie.

"I thought you would be the fearless type of girl." I chuckled lightly.

"Oh no! Luke! Do you want to hold my hand? I know how scared you get of things like this!" I told Luke sarcastically.

"Ha ha you're just hilarious aren't you? I'm not 8 anymore." Luke said with a fake smile.

"Yeah Violet he's not eight! He just acts like it." Michael laughed and I laughed with him.

"Wow! Are we just going to make fun of me all night or watch the god damn movie?" Luke said sarcastically. Michael and I both just laughed as Luke got up and put the movie in the DVD player.

"I'll go make some snacks." I told the boys.

"I'll help" Michael shot up. I gave him a warm smile as we walked into the kitchen.

"I have no idea where anything is..." I admitted to Michael.

"Well lucky for you, I come here a lot." Michael smiled and pulled down a box of popcorn, chips, cookies and 3 cans of coke.

"So... Do you like Sydney so far...?" Michael asked while placing each cookie onto a platter.

"It's okay, besides the ass holes and me having the "no friends here" ordeal it's not too bad."

"Well you have me, and I wouldn't want to become friends with people like Alex anyway. If you want you could meet my friends? I mean, Luke would come with us of course because they're his friends too but you would like them. They're a lot more like you." Michael put his back to the microwave as the popcorn cooked.

"Sounds like fun! When do you want to?"

"Let me see your phone." Michael put his number in my phone and then texts himself to make sure he had my number too. "I'll call you tomorrow and tell you."

The microwave beeps and the popcorn is ready. Michael pours it into a bowl and grabs the cookie platter and the popcorn bowl in two separate bowls and I grabbed the cokes and chips. When we got back Luke was already on the couch ready to watch the movie. We both sat down, Luke on one side of me, Michael on the other. It's already dark outside and the movie is really scary so far. Luke of course fell asleep in the first 10 minutes. During the movie Michael kept looking over at me. I could see him watch me from the corner of my eye. Half way through the movie my phone starts to ring.

"Hold on I have to get this." I tell Michael and pause the movie. It was Alice.

"Hey what's up?" Alice asks me when I answer.

"Alice, I'm watching a movie can I call you back later okay?"

"No wait! I have news!" She says ecstatically.

"Okay fine, shoot. But make it quick Luke and his friend, well, my friend I guess, are waiting"

"Okay so you know David the really hot one from Boca High? Well he asked me out today and we're going to a party tomorrow!" Oh shit. I never told Alice what happened that night. David was there, he was in on it.

"Alice listen to me hoes before bros right? Well I have to tell you something later okay? Just trust me on this one and don't talk to him until I tell you what... what I have to tell you..."

"Umm okay... Just call me back later kay? I love you.

"Love yah too." I said as I walked back to the couch and sat down.

"Boyfriend?" Michael asked me.

"Best friend, actually. She's more like a sister though."

"Yeah I got you. Luke is like that to me. Him and my friends Calum and Ashton and I have been the closest of friends since we were 12. I actually hated Luke though but one day his friends were being douches to me and he stood up for me and we've been like brothers ever since. He's still friends with them but it's not really by choice. Luke's freaked that they'll kick his ass or hurt Lilly if he stops hanging out with them."

"Holy shit! You and Luke could take them though. Being preppy assholes doesn't teach you how to fight. Hell! Alice and I could take probably take them!" It's true, Alice and I have fought before and won. Michael chuckles lightly.

"It's not that easy. There's more than just Austin and Alex. They have like 9 boys and 4 girls in their group of friends. You have to stay away from them Violet, especially now that you hit Alex. They will go after you and those girls are mean. They can fight In more than one way, they spread rumors that can spread fast. They will ruin you in this town." Michael's tone is low and serious. I know he's not playing around about these kids. I just nod.

"You want to finish the movie?" He asks.

"Yeah." I play the movie and sit back.

All I can think of is his warning though.
