Chapter 4

"Hey Vi, Violet wake up." My eyes flutter open. "Luke?'' Everything looked blurry for a second then it cleared up for me to make out Luke standing next to the couch. "Hey umm... Do you want to go to the mall with me? You can meet some of my friends and it gets pretty boring her in the house..." The thought of me and Luke hanging out was strange. Just a few hours ago I hated him. Wait, when did I fall asleep? "Yeah, sure why not," I sat up from bed. "Okay cool, we'll leave in ten." I just smiled as Luke walked out. I got of my bed and walked to the mirror in my room. I wiped the mascara off from under my eyes and reapplied my now faded eyeliner. I walked to the couch to grab my phone and looked out my window. I saw the boy again, this time he was getting ready to walk his dog. I grabbed my phone quickly and ran down stairs. "Luke c'mon let's go." I sounded really pushy and rude but I wanted to see this boy and clear up that I indeed was not trying to be a bitch. Luke looked at me puzzled but went along with it. "Umm... Okay..." He grabbed his keys and I followed him out the door. The boys was now at the end of his driveway. When he saw me his eyes got wide but he slightly smiled timidly and waved. This time I waved back and smiled. "Hey, Michael!" Luke yelled I'm assuming to the boy. Michael walked our way as Luke walked to the end of the driveway, I followed. "This is Violet, my cousin." Michael Looked at me and smiled. "Hi I'm Michael, Luke's friend slash neighbor..." I just smiled politely at him. I didn't know what to say. "So Michael, you want to hang later? We can play some Fifa," Luke asked Michael. " Okay I'll be over at 6?" Luke nodded, "sounds good." I bit my lip to keep from smiling, I want to see him more. Something about him intrigued me and I just wanted more even though I don't even know anything about him except his name. Most people I could just look at them and know if they're the sweetest person or the meanest most wicked person you'll ever meet, but something about Michael told me he was neither. Something I've never seen before. I followed Luke to his old beat up matte black Neon and got in the passenger side. "You like Nirvana?" I nodded. He pulled out a "Nevermind" CD and put it in the player. "Whats your favorite song?" He asked. "Breed or In Bloom." I told him. "Me too." He smiled and started playing "In bloom" as we pulled out of the driveway. "So... Who's your favorite band...?" I asked shyly. "Mayday Parade, Green day, Nirvana, ATL, MRC..." He told me. "I love all of them! Wow you have changed so much. You used to be a preppy little ass hat." He laughed and bit his lip. "Well you're different too you know, and still really mean. I remember once when we were little I wanted to show you something and you slapped me and called me a pathetic looser." I laughed with him. "Well Luke, I couldn't give a tiny rats ass about your Pokemon cards, it wasn't even a good one!" Luke laughed and tilted his head back. I guess Luke isn't half as bad as I thought. We might actually end up being friends. We pulled into the mall and there were barely any cars there. We parked and walked into the mall. It looked dead because of the lack of people. At one table there was 2 boys and one girl. The two boys wore polo t-shirts and the girl wore a grey t-shirt dress and white converse. "Vi, they're kind of pricks so just watch out." I nodded as we approached them. "Hey guys this is my cousin Violet and Vi this is Austin, Alex and Rachel." I smiled and said hello. Luke conversed with them and after a while they all stood up and started walking. Luke explained to me how Austin and Rachel have been dating for 2 years and how in love they are and how they'd do anything for each other and to be honest I couldn't give a shit but I just smiled and acted as if cared or was even listening to him Austin and Rachel. After that finished I just kind of dropped back and let them talk to each other. Alex dropped back and started talking to me. "So... Where are you from again?" I looked at him and smiled politely and said Melbourne. "Oh eww I hate it there." I put on a sarcastic smile. "Of course you do." I mumbled. "So you got a boyfriend?" Shook my head. "Cool" He said and grabbed my ass. Before even processing I slapped him straight across his face and grabbed Luke's arm and pulled him towards the exit. I glanced back for just a second to see Austin holding his cheek and pointing in my direction. It looked like he was shouting but I wasn't paying attention. "Violet! Vi, what just happened?!" Luke asked frantically. "He... he touched me and... I, I hit Luke I just couldn't do it again!'' I burst into tears. Luke pulled me into a hug. "It's okay Violet, we'll go home and watch a movie or something." I nodded. "Isn't Michael coming over?" I asked Luke. "Shit, yeah but Michael's not like them at all. He actually hates them. Is it cool if he hangs with us tonight? I can cancel if you want?" I shook my head. "No, no that's okay." Luke smiled and put his arm around me and walked me to the car. Luke is a nice guys. I really do think we can be friends. In the car I looked down at my hand. It had blood on it. Shit, I didn't mean to hit him that hard! I can't even control my reflexes after what happened.
