Nerves of Sand

(Y/n's POV)

 The city is pretty cold tonight...Or maybe I'm just a little nervous about how tonight is going to end' I thought to myself as I rubbed my arms to try and keep warm from the rather... revealing clothing I was informed to wear. It was a cape with beautiful array of colors related to a chicken  and had a yellow heart over my chest, where the cape meets in the middle. I was told to wear something revealing underneath so I wore red top. One of the things I really wasn't comfortable about was the fact I was told to wear... red panties with two large feathers in an X on. (If its easier for you to imagine you wearing Niwatori's outfit just do that lol) I walked up to the large plaza like area with my Cockscomb gripped tightly in my hands. "Wow that is a huge tower" I muttered out loud as I walked inside it. The lobby was so fancy and clean, I've never seen something like this before. I walked over to the elevator  and pressed the button, but walked back quickly before turning around to face the door, Cockscomb ready in case the elevator was booby trapped. Shortly the elevator arrived and I cautiously made my way inside and pressed the button to take me to the top floor.  As the elevator goes higher I watch out the window to see if  anyone else is joining us. The elevator soon stopped and the doors slowly opened and I stepped out only to see someone was decapitated on the floor in front of my eyes. I let out a quick yelp before kicking the head towards the body by instinct. Only then did I take in my surroundings and noticed that everyone had already arrived and I'm the only one who was left as I counted how many people were here, including the dead body. Everyone was looking in my direction and I instantly felt like I was already target number one. I noticed that a guy with grey hair and pale skin was glaring at me a little more aggressively than everyone else. Then I noticed that the head I kicked looked exactly like him... wait a second... "O-Oh god I'm sorry I didn't mean any disrespect f-from that!" I quickly exclaimed. He only grumbled a bit before going back to leaning on a pillar. I walked around to a secluded little spot till a girl with brown hair and a headset came near me while I hid close to one of the pillars. "Hi there! Don't worry I don't mean any harm I promise." She said with a calming smile. Her presence entirely seemed to have calmed me down. She soon held out her hand and introduced herself to me. " I'm Monkey, Killing Peacefully, and you are?" Her smile seemed pretty convincing that she had no malevolent intentions. "I'm Chicken, Killing by Pecking, It's nice to meet you Monkey" I said with a smile slowly making its way on my face. She gives off a natural aura of kindness that just makes me relaxed around her. I took note that she has a cable extending from her combat uniform. I looked back to the dead body on the floor and was confused on who would kill someone before the game even started. I looked around the room and my eyes stopped on a guy with short, white messy hair and was wearing... black bunny ears with a collar that had a black bow. He also had two black suspenders that hooked over his shoulders and were hooked to his black shorts. He also was sporting a big bushy rabbit tail and... red high heels? I thought that I looked strange enough in my outfit but now I feel a little better about my attire. He was also holding two machetes and one had blood on it... I assume he killed- "W-Why are you looking at me like that I didn't kill him you can't go blaming stuff on people with out proof!" He interrupted my thoughts as I was looking at him. I noticed he pointed his machete at me and it was specifically the one with blood on it. I don't think he's really good at lying..."Okay Okay I'm sorry" I said quickly afraid of what he is capable of. "Wait only friends apologize to each other. Does that mean you want to be my friend?" He said with a grin starting to grace his face, instantly freaking me out a bit. "N-No I don't want to be your friend... I MEAN I WOULDN'T MIND BEING YOUR FRIEND ITS JUST-" "Oh stow it we all know why we are here and for sure it's not to make friends" A woman with blond long hair spoke up instantly. I recognize her, I've seen her on Tv a few times she represents the Boar. I was never really a fan of her she seemed like a very cocky person which was never really a good trait in my opinion. Soon enough a man with a black trench coat and a black top hat appeared on one of the rather high up catwalk. "Now that everyone has arrived, we shall commence the Twelfth Zodiac War. Everybody, clap your hands!" He stated before clapping while everyone in the room just stared at him. "Before you all start killing each other, allow me to introduce myself. My name is  Duodecuple and I shall be the judge of this game, do try and remember that. Now I would like you all to go and take a Gem" Everyone slowly made there way to the table and grabbed a crystal. I admired how beautiful it was so dark and yet elegant. A sudden thump next to me caused me to jump as I looked behind me and noticed a black haired male with pale skin and dog ears. I noticed that his sclera is black and his irises were blue. That is pretty awesome in my opinion. He was wearing a grey cloak with fur on it and black pants with a white design on the middle with grey boots. I also took note on his braces that he had for arm protection I assume. "What are you looking at?" He snapped at me before walking over and grabbing a gem himself. I flinched a bit from the sudden reaction but shook it off. 'Okay lets try not to make it on someone's to kill list' I thought before I was brought back to reality with Duodecuple speaking again. "Hey, can I take my brothers gem since he isn't going to need it anymore?" Asked the guy with the large blue cylinder on his back. "Yes you may, but I will have to ask that you only swallow one of them." It took me a minute to register what he said before it hit me. Swallow it? Why would we do that? "Wait what?" The man asked. "Yes I will be asking for you to swallow only one of the gems for fairness." He stated. I looked down and analyzed how exactly I was to swallow this thing. I noticed cups of water on the table and decided to grab a cup. The gem was still a little hard to swallow even with the water but I managed to get it down. Everyone else made it look like nothing. "Now that you have swallowed the gem I would like to inform you that what you swallowed was a poisonous gem that will kill you in 12 hours" My eyes widened a bit and instantly regretted swallowing it. "Now there has been a little change in the rules do to a popular vote that was made, we  shall be allowing two victors for the games this time. So instead of needing eleven gems to win you will be needing ten gems in total to win, that is if you are partnered up with anyone. Keep in mind it's not mandatory to team up with someone and both wishes of each winner shall be granted." He stated once more. Wow so I could team up with someone? That's a slight relief I just hope I'm not back stabbed. "Wait a second how exactly would we get the gems from the other players since they were swallowed?" I asked out loud to Duodecuple. "That I shall leave to you to use your own methods to retrieve them" I grimaced at the thought and nodded. "If there are no further questions I wish you all the best of luck" And with that he walked off and disappeared into the darkness. There was a tense silence in the room. A room full of enemies is what I felt as I clutched onto my Cockscomb and held it close to my body. "U-Um hello everyone I have an idea if anyone is willing to listen." Monkey spoke up as everyone turned their attention to her and the boy who was sleeping on the floor. "I would like to form an alliance so we could try to end this without the need to kill anyone. If you want to be part of our team feel free to raise your hand." She stated. The boy that was laying on the floor turned out to be awake and he rose his hand. I did right after him along with a man with ox horns, a short old man, and a big bulky man. This seems like a great idea! Is what I thought till the rabbit guy rose his bloody machete in the air. "I want to be part of the team" and with that my hand shot down along with everyone else's hands. "W-Well that's okay if you want to change your mind during the game don't be afraid to find me." she finished before the silence set in again. Everyone was looking around still trying to figure who was going to make the first move. Suddenly there was a loud explosion and the ground below us came crashing down. I was falling pretty quickly and was noticing everyone was making their way out of the tower. I need to think and fast before I hit the floor!  

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND THAT IS THE END OF CHAPTER ONE EVERYONE! I really hope you enjoyed this and I do have a friend helping me make this since he has seen this show a few times and he will be able to help me figure out an alternate way to change the story up since its kinda going away from the main story I guess anyways I hope you all enjoyed! I'll try to upload another chapter tomorrow.
