A Dogs Bite (Dotsuku x Reader)

A Dragons Icy Breath and Warmth

(Y/n's POV) 

Darkness. That's all I can see right now. I can hear the screams of those I was told to 'practice on'  The pleas of mercy still ring through my head at night as I try to find comfort from the screams, usually to no avail without mothers comfort. The screams only grew louder and louder as I clutched my head and hoped for the screams and cries to stop. "Hey" I heard a gruff voice ring through the screams. It sounded familiar and was slowly getting louder, drowning out the screams. "Wake up (Y/n)" The voice said. Wake up? What do you mean. "WAKE UP!"

I shrieked as I curled into the body in front of me. Wait a second... I rotated my head up to see Dotsuku's face riddled with worry. "Um... you kept tossing and turning a bit so i figured you were having a nightmare... You can um... let go of my cloak you know..." He said awkwardly. "huh?" I said a little confused. Only then did i notice I was clutching onto his cloak like life depended on it. "Oh my bad! Yeah I wasn't really having that good of a dream..." I said as I leaned up and stretched. "Wait a second wasn't I  leaning on your shoulder when I fell asleep?" I asked causing his ears to flicker a bit before he looked away and laughed awkwardly. "Yeah you did but uh... Figured you be more comfortable laying down" He said awkwardly while rubbing the back of his neck. "That was considerate of you Dotsuku, thank you." I said as I stood up and began to stand on my tip toes and stretch out more. "Eh it wasn't that big of a deal, besides you could've woken up with a crook in your neck or something." He added before standing up and instantly looking to the sky. "(Y/n) we got trouble in the sky." He said quickly as he took a defensive stance. I grabbed my Cockscomb from the side of the bench and began to look up and notice the guy with the ice tank in the sky just looking down at us with the nozzle of his tank in his hand. "Hey down there! I will admit it is a lovely night for a romantic stroll!" He teased causing my face to heat up a bit while I heard a growl come from Dotsuku before I spoke up. "It's nothing like that don't just assume stuff!" I yelled back earning a laugh from the flying man. "Whatever you say princess anyways let's try and get this over with yeah? There's only like five of us left and I would like to wrap this up fast!" He yelled back as he took hold of the nozzle and aimed it at us. "Dragon, killing for money!" He yelled down to us causing me to let out a sigh. 'Guess there's no dodging this one...' I thought before looking back up. "Chicken, killing by pecking" I yelled back followed up by Dotsuku yelling "Dotsuku, Zodiac of the Dog, killing by biting!". And as soon as he introduced himself Dragon instantly began to descend towards us at a rapid speed. "Hey (Y/n) don't let that stuff get on you in his tank it smells like liquid nitrogen so don't let it touch you" Dotsuku informed me before nodding. The moment I looked up Dragon was blasting his Ice Thrower at us. I instantly dodged to the left and over the bench while Dotsuku ran to the right to dodge his attack. "Now for the dragon to eat the dog before eating the chicken!" He yelled as he flew over towards Dotsuku who was now dodging around the blasts of ice. I ran behind a tree and closed my eyes and focused on a pigeon nearby and had it fly towards Dragons head. I opened my eyes and saw that Dotsuku was trying to close the gap between him and Dragon. Soon enough my pigeon had crashed into dragons head causing him to let out a frustrated yell and look around for something. "You know what change of plans how about I kill the chicken first!" He yelled and dove towards me. "Oh shit..." I thought and began to run around the trees to hopefully shake off the flying man. "Can't run forever chicken!" He yelled as he shot a blast at me again, this time managing to graze my cape causing me to stumble a bit with the frozen weight on my back. I looked around and didn't see Dotsuku anywhere he might be hatching a plan somewhere. He wouldn't just abandon me right? He's not that type of guy he's kind and considerate... Wait why am I thinking of that stuff right now I need to stay alive! I did a sharp turn towards a tree and stumbled over a root of a tree. "Shit what the hell is this a horror movie!?" I yelled as I hit the ground and began to try and get up only to have a foot kick my chest down causing me to scream out and drop my Cockscomb next to me. "Heh so much for getting away from me huh?" Dragon said as He pointed the nozzle of his Ice thrower at me. "Heh sucks you were here its a shame to let a beauty like you die but, oh well right?" He taunted until he let out a sudden yell as he was tackled off and pinned to the ground by Dotsuku. "W-WHAT!? YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO HAVE RAN AWAY!"  Dragon yelled as Dotsuku was giving a deadly snarl. "Guess the dragons going to be murdered by the Dog then right? Next time keep your hands off." He said in a low growl before biting dragon, causing him to scream out in pain from the poisonous bite. "Y-You bastard!" Dragon yelled as he started blasting ice towards the a few trees before eventually coughing up blood from his mouth. His eyes even began to leak blood before ceasing any movements. "Heh guess there wont be a next time..." Dotsuku growled out before instantly running over to me. "Hey (Y/n) are you hurt? I noticed your cape took a little hit but I more concerned on if any actually got on you." He asked as he began to examine my body looking for any injuries. "No don't worry about it Dotsuku I'm fine, just a little pain for a foot hitting my chest is all." I assured him. It seems like he's saved me quite a few times. "You really ought to be wearing shinning armor with how much you save me." I teased him causing a faint blush to appear. "If that's the case you might as well be wearing a long flowing dress since the knight has to keep saving the princess." He shot back with a playful smirk. I began to laugh a bit as I felt my face heating up before shaking my head. "No doing all that royal stuff isn't really my style. Wait I just thought about what Dragon said earlier. He said there were only five of us left. With him dead that means for... You don't think-" "That Monkey is dead? Probably." Dotsuku answered instantly knowing my upcoming question. I felt my heart sink a bit as I absorbed that information. "We...We still cant be certain right? She could still be alive. Hell maybe ox took down rabbit and its just us right?" I asked trying to convince myself she isn't dead. Dotsuku only sighed and shook his head. "I highly doubt that. She's a pacifist, the chances of her killing someone is literally at zero." He added only making me shake my head a little more. By this time I was gripping the grass beneath me. "If  that's the case who would you think... is the last 2 alive?" I asked hesitantly earing a quiet response. "Ox and Rabbit probably." I felt a cold shiver run down my spine as I thought of the chances of us winning and how they were slowly fading. "Wait maybe I can spot out something with the birds nearby!" I said in a nervous tone. I closed my eyes and saw through one of the pigeons in the city was circling around someone walking in the streets. "W-Wait Monkey is still alive!" I shouted in joy, until she noticed the bird and looked up. Her eyes were black and red like Rabbits and there were two stab wounds over her right and left breast. "N-No I... I take that back" I said quietly. Soon enough I saw ox walking out of the bank place with a new gem in his hand. " So I guess Ox took out horse..." I whispered out. I closed my eyes again and before me was Dotsuku looking off the the side in deep thought. "H-Hey don't worry if anything you can win this by yourself remember?" I brought up causing his head to snap back at me. He seemed a little angry that I said that. "What?" Was all he could say. "Yeah remember? Y-You told me that you're immune to the poison already so when the time-" "Don't you ever say that again (Y/n)" He interrupted me. His tone was very low and he sounded extremely pissed off. "Do you really think I could accept the fact I couldn't help you escape this hell after all the trouble we've gone through?" He asked me. I never really thought he cared about me getting out of here too. "I mean you have a daughter you need to get back to ya know? I don't really have much going for me. I'm sure father is pretty-" "What upset? Because you didn't go around slashing heads off of every opponent?" He interrupted causing me to shake a bit before nodding. "Then simply come with me (Y/n)" Dotsuku said causing me to shake my head rapidly. "I-I couldn't do that! I would just be mooching off of you like some parasite!" I yelled. By this time I had torn the grass from the ground from how much I was gripping it. "I suddenly felt Dotsuku's warm hands on my shoulders causing me to stop moving. "(Y/n) look at me." Dotsuku said. I slowly looked up at him and his face had softened. "What do you think could possibly happen if you don't go home" He asked me. "Well father... he probably would suddenly act like I was the best person in the world." I said. "Don't you think he should've been always treating his daughter like that?" He asked causing my eyes to water up a bit before nodding. "Do you really think he deserves someone as kind hearted as yourself?" He asked as he began to wipe my eyes. It was taking a lot of willpower at this point not to break down. I can't afford to keep crying in front of him like this... "N-No" I whispered. "Then come with me, I'm sure my daughter would love having you around. You would both get along so well." He began to smile causing my chest to tighten a bit. "So would you want to come home with me?" He asked with his head tilted a bit. I pull him into and embrace and he instantly wrapped his arms around me before I answered. "Yes I would love to come home with you Dotsuku." I answered trying my best not to cry. "I'm glad you said yes (Y/n)" He said as we pulled back from each other. Time seemed to freeze as I locked eyes with him. His ears were flattened down and he had a cute smile on his face with a blush gracing his pale cheeks. The distance between us began to close slowly and soon enough our lips had  touched as I fluttered my eyes closed. The kiss was short and sweet but as we pulled away a warmth had filled my body. "(Y/n) I love you, when we make it out of this place I will make sure to treat you right. Just promise me you won't give up on yourself." He said, his tone sounding slightly desperate of my response. "Dotsuku I love you too, I promise to you I will never give up no matter how hard things get and how far victory seems to be. I'll be by your side no matter what happens." I said with a smile gracing my face again. "Then let's start thinking of a plan to take those two out so we can get out of here" He said with a smug grin. I nodded and began to think of how we could utilize the bomb I took from Sheep's corpse. "I think I have an idea Dotsu"  I said giving him a nickname (I know terrible nickname execute me plz) casuing his ears to perk up a bit from the nickname. "Dotsu?" He seemed confused causing me to laugh a bit from the confused man. "Just a nickname is all do you dislike it?" I asked causing him to shake his head. "No I love it, just feels a little weird is all. I haven't had one before" He answered. "Also I know what my wish is." I piped up. He leaned in a bit interested in what I was going to wish for. "I want to wish for Monkey to be alive again." He tilted his head at this. "Why?" He asked. "Well you've heard of the work she's done, stopping wars, creating new allies with countries. We need  a good person like that in this world and she was unfortunately killed here." I said. "Ah yeah I've heard stories of her triumphs like that, but I'm not against it so don't worry." He said causing me to smile and pull the man into hug causing him to flail a bit from the sudden action. "You're so weird sometimes you know that?" He asked causing me to giggle. "Yeah but you still love me right?" I asked. And with that he kissed me again except this one was filled with more passion than before. "You know it" He said in a low growl causing my face to heat up. "So, lets hear about this plan you got."

(And there you have it, I feel like I may have rushed the love in this, but like I said I'm a terrible writer so I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Being out at sea with limited internet access sucks so I might not update this for possibly a month. And I hope I'm not the only one who wanted Rat to make that wish at the end so I hope nobody is to mad about the wish I gave you lol.
