To Kill a headless snake

(Y/n POV)

"SO THAT DIDN'T GO LIKE I EXPECTED IT TO GO!" I yelled towards Dotsuku as when blitz down the street dodging  flames being shot at us from the Headless corpse chasing us with a flame thrower. "ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU DIDN'T KNOW HE SHOT FIRE!?"  He yelled back as he hopped over a car  that was quickly scorched and melted on the hood. "H-HOW WAS I SUPPOSE TO KNOW THAT WAS FIRE!? I ONLY FIGURED THE BROTHER SHOT ICE I THOUGHT HE SHOT GAS OR SOMETHING!" I yelled back in response as I ducked over a blast of flames above me and prayed my cape wasn't burned. I look over and saw that there was a mall we could hide out in. "Hey Dotsuku into that mall!, I'm sure we can hide in there and come up with a better plan in there!" I yelled to him earning a nod. We made a sharp maneuver and barreled into the mall with the headless corpse chasing after us. Luckily the mall was empty so there wasn't anything for me to worry about. After ducking and dodging the flames we found ourselves in the electronics area of the mall. I was taking in shallow breaths to try and hide my sound.  "H-How exactly... does a headless corpse even keep track of us" I heard Dotsuku growl out with irritation. I was about to say something when I had heard footsteps stop in front of the entrance of the electronic area. I leaned over and saw that he was crouched down and touching the floor. "Wait what is he-" I was interrupted by the loud blaring of a random alarm next to me. My heart instantly sunk as I heard the noise and looked back. "He... He can't  hear us or see us he's... He's been relying on the vibrations on the ground this whole time!" I shouted causing Dotsuku to frantically waving his hands quiet before looking over. "Heh I guess you're right so i figure that if I managed to throw my knife fast enough I might be able to cut his arm off wielding the flame thrower and we should be able to get some type of fighting chance against him up close." He explained to me. I nodded and looked back to see that the corpse was slowly making its way into the area. "I'll distract him from over here." I said as I stood up and ran away from Dotsuku, instantly catching  the corpses attention, along with the flamethrower. I leaped and hopped over the numerous appliances to dodge the flames that kept getting a little to close for comfort. Eventually after his back was completely towards Dotsuku I saw him raise his hand with his knife in hand and chuck it towards the corpse arm and successfully cut off the arm holding onto the flamethrowers nozzle causing the body to stumble forward a bit and making the corpse turn around. "Turned your back at the wrong time you corpse! " I yelled as I lunged at the corpse and stabbed it in the fuel tank causing the fuel to leak out. 'wait what does this smell like alcohol?' I thought to myself. "(Y/n) watch out!" I heard Dotsuku yell as I looked up and noticed that the corpse was still alive and still had a free hand. Before I could pull my Cockscomb out of the corpse, it reached behind and grabbed my wrist and instantly chucked me into a few computers. I let out a sudden cry from the pain as Dotsuku's eyes darted to me then back towards the corpse. I went to sit up but was pinned down by the corpse who began to choke me with its free hand. 'W-Without restrictions i-its strangling me a-at 100%!' I thought as i frantically began to try and loosen the corpses grip off of my neck to no avail. I felt my vision slowly beginning fade before I saw a black blur tackle the corps off of me and I was able to take a deep breath before I saw Dotsuku stabbing the corpse repeatedly at what seemed to be lifeless. I looked over and saw that the hand was scurrying to the body. How exactly do we kill something that is already dead the body just keep recovering... wait a second. "D-Dotsuku we need to get outside again and fast!". He looked over and ran over to me, grabbing my Cockscomb in the process, and helped me up. "Hey are you okay?" He instantly asked me. I could hear a little worry in his gruff voice. "Yeah I'm fine, but lets get outside before the corpse fixes itself, I think i found a way to kill him for sure." I said as I grabbed my Cockscomb back. I stood and and made a break for the exit with Dotsuku close behind. The corpse instantly chased after us. "Don't worry Dotsuku I made sure to call all the birds nearby to help us, and also nobody is nearby so lets hurry up and finish this quickly." I said as I looked back with a reassuring smile. There was an unreadable expression on his face before hit turned into a smirk and he nodded. Soon the cold breeze had hit me causing me to shiver a bit before running into the street and stopping as the corpse stepped out the door and began to look around. Dotsuku looked around and noticed there were a lot of birds around us. I smiled and waved my Cockscomb in the air a bit before pointing it down at the corpse who seemed to be searching for us still. "Now prepare to experience a Sky Burial!" I yelled as bird began to swoop down and swarm around the corpse. It seemed to be putting up a fight but soon began to slowly disappear behind the flocks of birds. Soon enough the birds had dispersed and all that was left were bones and a damaged fuel tank. I let out a sigh and looked over to Dotsuku who seemed to be shocked at the display. "A corpse can really regenerate if there's nothing to regenerate right?" I laughed a bit before hearing a deep chuckle from Dotsuku. That's the first time I've heard him laugh before... "Yeah you have a point great work on that." He complimented me while I wave to my feathered friends. I walked over to him and he seemed a little confused on why I got so close. I instantly wrapped my arms around him and pulled him into a tight embrace, causing him to instantly stiffen up. "Thanks for ya know... saving me Dotsuku." I muttered out quietly. I could hear his heart beating a little quickly before he stammered out "Yeah no problem, we are a team ya know." soon enough I let go and he ruffled my (H/l) (H/c) a bit. (Btw H/l is hair length and H/c is hair color.) He had a subtle smile on his face before i noticed a faint blush on his face, but it instantly went away. "We should get  a move on lets head to the park I'm sure nobody should be there." Dotsuku suggested and i nodded in agreement. Soon we started walking towards the park in silence. 'Why exactly did i give him a hug?' I questioned myself. It felt like it was out of lot of happiness, but I shouldn't be feeling that happy in this time. Is this... normal?

(And that is chapter 3! I'm trying to bust out a lot of chapters before I leave for a month. I wont have any wifi where I go so hopefully i will come back safe lol.
