"Wake up! Wake up!" Clay whisper-shouts as he jumps on the bed, hovering over Justin's sleeping figure. Justin groans in confusion, moving to try and get more comfortable.
"Justinnn," Clay draws out, plopping onto the boys back. He wraps his arms around Justin's torso and squeezes tightly. "Wake up, its almost time to go," he whispers into Justin's shirt.
Justin finally opens his eyes and yawns, flipping onto his back and holding Clay's hips so he doesn't fall off. "You have way too much energy this morning," he says groggily. Clay just smiles down at him.
"Duh. I'm so excited," he says in a matter-of-fact tone. Justin smiles and goes to sit up, Clay still straddling him.
"Okay, okay, let me get up and brush my teeth, and THEN we can have a proper face to face conversation about how happy you are," he says, pushing Clay off of his lap and standing up to stretch.
"It's already seven, so we leave in two hours," Clay explains as Justin heads out the door. Justin just nods then walks away.
When Justin returns, Clay isn't in the room so he figures that the boy had went downstairs. He takes his time to sift through his remaining clothes that weren't previously stuffed in his bag, only to be folded and neatly stacked by Clay. He begins to dress, overlooking his side of the room, which has quickly reverted to not being used as often. It was weird really. He used to sleep on that couch instead of Clay's bed. It had took a shift at the blink of an eye, and once the eye opened it revealed that things were becoming more than they were. A relationship was evolving as Justin's "bed" sat on the other side of the room, untouched for anything other than sitting. Justin was surprised at how Clay's bed didn't have a permanent dip in it from all the pressure the two created.
Only then did he notice that Clay's bed was made. Of course, it's not like he should've expected anything less. Justin stood with a fond smile on his lips, mentally shaking his head at the boy's neat tendencies.
Justin finally decided to join the others downstairs, knowing that Clay's parents were awake to see them off. Well, it wasn't the only reason, seeing as though the two did have jobs to attend later on. Matt would be arriving late, since the school started at 8:15 and the boys wouldn't be leaving until 9.
There was already a full breakfast on the table by the time Justin reached it. Clay was sat in his usual chair, Matt in his own, while Lainie was in the kitchen pouring a fresh cup of coffee. The smell was pleasant throughout the house, the enjoyable aroma of syrup, bacon and coffee, otherwise known as the overriding scents that took over above the natural smell of the home and the rest of the balanced breakfast foods.
"Morning Justin, are you excited for your trip?" Lainie asked, swirling her spoon in the dark liquid in her mug, making a satisfying transition into a lighter color as the creamer and sugar settled.
"I can't wait," he said, smiling as he pulled his chair out and sat down. He piled food onto his plate, and if anyone were to complain about it, he was "a growing boy", his favorite excuse for pigging out.
"So you guys are all packed? You're not forgetting anything right?" Lainie asked, fixing her own food.
"Please Mrs.Jensen, Clay was already stressing enough about it, no need to worry," Justin assures, looking over at the boy who was nibbling on a triangle of pancake. The shine of the syrup dared to drip off the edge of the piece, making Justin momentarily raise a brow, silently anticipating for it to just fall and make a sticky mess instead of peaking his interest. So without a second thought, in order to preserve the syrup, he used his hand to push Clay's fork past his lips, making the syrup catch thoughtfully onto the boy's lip, but unluckily making the fork push towards the back of his throat, making him gag and cough.
Justin quickly realized what he'd done and brought his hand back to cover his mouth as he tried not to burst out laughing, but he let out a long breath, signifying that he did in fact find it hilarious. Matt had sputtered on his orange juice, also coughing but only because he was the one to burst out laughing.
"Justin, what the fuck?" Clay coughed, licking his lips then wiping them with the back of his hand. Matt breathed out a "language", making Clay roll his eyes.
"Language? He almost asphyxiated me, and you're worried about my language?" Clay shouted, his face riddled with disbelief.
"I'm sorry, it was an accident," Justin said, his voice cracking as he chuckled. Lainie just brought a hand up to her forehead and sighed. These boys were impossible.
"Yeah, cause you can accidentally just shove a fork into someone's lungs," Clay said, pushing Justin, making him lose balance, but he quickly regained it as he grabbed the table.
"I said I was sorry," he snickered.
"You obviously didn't mean it," Clay said, rolling his eyes again. He wouldn't tell Justin, but he also found the situation kind of funny, making him hide his smile behind his cup as he took a sip of his juice.
"Well, would you look at the time. Finish your breakfast and then you guys should be leaving soon after," Lainie said, pointing her fork towards the two.
"It sounds to me like you're trying to get rid of us," Clay accuses.
"No sweetie, I just don't want to watch you die before your big trip, that'd be terribly tragic," she says, chuckling. Clay side-eyed her, but then decided to continue eating, being cautious towards the boy next to him.
"Clay, I'm not gonna do it again," Justin said, his mouth full of food. Clay scrunched his face up.
"You're such a pig," he said, making Justin snort but not say anything in return.
"Oh boy," Lainie says, shaking her head at the two.

"Okay, I want you guys to call me at each stop, and when you get to the motel," Lainie says, sounding nervous as she hugged both boys.
"That's a little excessive mom," Clay says, hugging back.
"I just want to make sure you guys are safe," she replies.
There was a honk heard from outside, the cue that the group had arrived to whisk them away. Justin grabbed their two small suitcases and rolled them out the door, looking down the path to the white van settled in front of the house.
"Hey little boys, you want some candy?" Zach joked, leaning out the drivers window. Justin chuckled and Clay rolled his eyes at the joke.
"Dempsey!" Justin shouted happily. He walked to the back of the van and opened the doors, greeted with everyone else's luggage and extra blankets and pillows.
"Hi Mr. and Mrs. Jensen," Zach waved, them waving back. Justin opened the side door and motioned for Clay to climb in, before hopping in himself. Everyone else was already in, making it seem somewhat packed since there were seven people, but there were eight seats and half a trunk left, so they could make it work.
"Take care of each other!" Lainie shouted before Zach pulled off, not even allowing the two boys to sit down first. They were already halfway down the street before they actually climbed into the back row.
"We left you two lovebirds the backseat, but the rule is you can't fuck, so sorry," Zach shouted back to them. The both of them felt their cheeks heat up as they made eye contact.
"Zach, just shut up and focus on the road before you kill us right before we leave town," Justin said, now making eye contact with Zach through the rear view mirror. Zach held contact for a few seconds before bursting out laughing.
"Okay, seems like someone isn't happy about the rule."
