*One Month Later*
Jess looked down at her watch to check the time. 2:42. The flight wasn't scheduled to leave for about 30 minutes, and she was hungry.
"Babe, do you wanna grab something to eat real quick? I'm starving."
"Sure thing. I was thinking Chick-fil-a. That alright?" Nathan responded.
Jess's phone started to ring. She pulled out her phone to see that it was Mia calling her. "Just get me some chicken minis and a sweet tea please, I need to take this." He nodded to her in response.
She walked over towards an open space as she answered the call. "Hey Mia, what's up? Is everything ok?"
"I'm fine, Jess. It's you I'm worried about. Are you sure you want to go through with this? I mean, Nathan is a sweet guy, but don't you think your parents will be upset when you bring some random boy back home with you for Thanksgiving?"
Jess shook her head as she spoke, "Mia we talked about this. They won't be upset, if anything they'll be so extremely happy for me. Look, Nate and I have to eat and start getting ready to board the plane. I'll call you later alright? Love you."
"Ok. Love you too, girly. Bye."
She glanced around looking for Nathan. He was sitting along the wall waiting for her. After they got done eating, it wasn't long before they were able to start boarding the plane.

Bryant insisted on picking Jess up from the airport when she got there, but she'd convinced him otherwise. Aside from that, Jess actually ended up keeping her promise. She called him every two weeks or so to check-in.
Bryant stepped out of his shower and wrapped a towel around his waist as he made his way into the closet. Over the years Bryant learned that you can never go wrong with semi-formal attire. After drying off his hair, he slipped into a pair of black slacks with a white button-up and a black blazer as well, leaving it unbuttoned. He grabbed his keys from the kitchen counter and made his way over to the Anderson's home.

It was approximately 4:43 when Jess and Nathan's taxi pulled into the driveway of her parents home. 17 minutes before dinner. Perfect timing.
The two of them grabbed their suitcases from the trunk and headed to the front door. "Don't worry, Nate. They'll love you, I promise."
They made their way through the front door, down the hallway, and into the dining room. Just about everyone in the family was scattered throughout the living and dining room. Jess's mom was the first to see her.
"Jessica! Oh goodness you're finally here!! Who's your friend?" She asked politely after embracing her daughter with a hug.
She smiled, "Mom, this is my boyfriend, Nathan."
He reached out his hand to shake hers, "It's so nice to finally meet you, Mrs. Anderson. Jess has told me a lot about you."
She just nodded, the look of disappointment was written all over her face. "Yes, well let me go get my husband, I'm sure he will be very pleased to meet you."
"See, that went well."
He nudged her, "You and I have very different definitions of the word 'well.'"
