''Thank God it's the last day.'' I mumbled as Ashton and I walked down the stuffed corridor of the dreaded place, known as school.

Ashton nudged me in the arm. ''Hey mate, chill. Why are you so grumpy anyway?''

I scowled at him.

He knew exactly why I was grumpy, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have a massive headache this morning. If he didn't offer me to have a few more drinks last night, I would've been perfectly fine. But being the cheeky bastard he is, he had to and now he has that stupid Cheshire grin on his face.

''Shut up, Ashton.''

My curly friend just chuckled as we strolled down the hall.

But this probably wasn't my day because I spotted a familiar bulky figure, along with a cocky face that pissed me off so much.

''Isn't that Hazel Edwards, or am I mistaken?'' he wondered, smirking at me.

I gritted my teeth as I threw on my best scary face. ''Fucking Josh Lyon. Do me a favor and piss off, would ya?'' I fired back, watching as Ashton stepped protectively in front of me.

Josh looked back to his group of friends, the same ones from before, that stood just a few feet away, and grinned at them. ''It speaks!''

Next to me, Ashton growled angrily. ''Get lost, dickhead.''

Josh faced Ashton, the smirk not leaving his face for even a second. ''It's the boyfriend! Sorry mate, didn't see you there.'' he sneered, getting amused snickers from the few guys before him.

The whole situation hit me like deja vu and I pulled the sleeve of Ashton's shirt. ''Don't start anything. Luke won't be here this time.'' I said, keeping my voice barely auditable.

Ashton narrowed his eyes at me. ''Prick deserves it, Hazel.''

''You'll just get yourself in trouble. Just ignore him and walk off.'' I replied, tugging at his forearm to get him away.

That amused Josh, obviously. ''Running away again, huh? Didn't know you were so pathetic.''

His comment angered Ashton even more, but I made sure to keep my grip on his arm as we slowly faded away.

But not before I flipped Josh off, gaining myself a loud laugh that echoed through the almost empty hall.

When we reached Ashton's car, he released a yelp of frustration, kicking the tyre of his red pickup.

''Fucking prick!'' he hissed as I simply leaned on the vehicle, pulling out my pack of cigarettes, along with a lighter.

''Calm down, he was just provoking you.'' I told him calmly.

''You should've let  me beat the bastard!'' Ashton yelled, his face twisted in rage. Pure hatred flamed in his eyes and he had his jaw clenched tightly.

''Calm down, dammit, he's not worth it.'' I snapped, frowning at the angered boy.

Ashton just muttered something and that's when our two friends appeared.

''Hey guys.'' Calum greeted, not even sensing Ashton's raged state. He went to hug me as a wide smile danced on his face.

Before I met the boys, I never even knew we went to same school. Well, except Michael because Ashton and him knew each other and used to hang out sometimes. So, you can imagine how delirious I felt when I found out that I have them in some of my classes. Calum would make me laugh and Michael would always make some pranks on teachers which would definitely make my day better.
