Six Hours Later...
O'Lary's Bar and Bistro, South Lunar: July 24th 2020: 3:09 PM
Sitting alone at the wet bar, Detective Rene Alverez who was off duty, was drinking a pint of Coors beer while listening to the news reports coming from the overhanging TV over the bar in front of her.
On the TV was Beatrice Fuller, and she was commenting about the events that had happened six hours ago and the resolution of what she figured Shadow Knight would call "The Case of the Darkness in a Pill" or something like that.
Beatrice Fuller: "...again, it's confirmed that CEO of Omni-Apothecary Corp and it's top research scientist Dr. Alice Krisper are dead. Officials in EMS and the LCPD who stormed the building found them in different parts of the building. Apparently somehow Dr. Krisper overdosed on Frenzy, officials found her in one of the elevators having died from the overdose...with a satisfied grin on her face. While M.D's on site confirmed that Carson Bennet died from...having his brain removed from his skull somehow without use of knives or other surgical devices. It's still not clear as to what happened here at OAC today, but we do know it was Shadow Knight related. It's possible he caused the destruction and eyewitness recording from our news copter confirms him to be there at the scene of the crime just a few inches away from Carson Bennet's body. If so, then he is not only a murder he is a terrorist. The mayor and city council have now issued a stronger incentive and warrant on the authorities to capture the outlaw metahuman and bring him in before any other domestic acts of terrorism are brought out in this city because of his presence or his actions. In other news, the poisoned parents of Philanthropist Kagae Kishi and Kishi Enterprises CEO Rachel Kishi, Martin Kishi and Machiko Kishi...have been confirmed to be now in recovery from their near death experience when they were poisoned by what has now been revealed to be a case of bad over the counter drugs...."
"They don't know the half of it" a male voice said behind her, and a balding man with a thick black beard sat down beside Detective Rene Alverez.
"I was wondering when you were going to show up." Detective Rene Alverez said, correctly deducing who the man really was, "So how did you do it? How did you cure them?"
"The vial of healing mutagen I stole from the late Dr. Krisper, the bitch succeeded where I've struggled. Unfortunately she didn't make more than one." The disguised Shadow Knight answered, "...after making sure it was safe I then gave it to my parents and voila. Not a moment too soon at that! Just wish she didn't take her process with her to the grave...that was something I didn't absorb with the little bit of contact I had with her."
He then looked at Detective Rene Alverez, "But with this...I might be able to make up for that loss."
He showed her the journal.
"What is this?" She asked when she took a look at it.
"Dorian Finch's journal... it's how they figured out who I am, and everything else...like how to bottle and sell my powers." Shadow Knight answered.
"Where did they get this?" Detective Rene Alverez asked concerned.
"I have no idea..." Shadow Knight answered, "Before he died, Carson Bennet mentioned something about a 'man in the shadows' giving him this thing."
Detective Rene Alverez's eyes widened in realization, "You don't mean...?"
"I don't think so..." Shadow Knight shook his head, "we have no idea when he got this thing. Dark Shadow could have given it to him before his death. Unfortunately I'm not so sure about that."
"Why?" Detective Rene Alverez asked.
"Because someone shadow walked Carson Bennet's brain right out of his skull...a method I've only seen two people do. The Brain, and Dark Shadow" Shadow Knight answered.
