Heartkit waited and waited. He had finished sorting the herbs a long time ago. He was tired of waiting yet that was all he could do. He sighed and curled into a ball in the middle of camp, pricking his ears for any sign of Stormpelt, Littlestorm, Featherflame or Flamefrost. A cat nudged him gently. He opened one eye.
"Hey, you alright there?" asked a voice. Heartkit recognised it. It was Dustbreeze.
"Why aren't they back yet?" moaned Heartkit, close to tears.
"They should be back soon," assured Dustbreeze. Sunwhisper joined them.
"They will be back soon," agreed Sunwhisper.
"Stormpelt is an awesome fighter," added Dustbreeze. "He'll be fine." Heartkit wasn't so sure but nodded.
"We outnumber all of the Clans that's for sure," Sunwhisper said. "We have twenty eight warriors. Most clans only have twenty at most. We'll be fine for sure." Heartkit felt reassured with the two muscled warriors beside him. He nodded and drifted to sleep, the waiting had been too long.
