My fourth month of being at school. I signed up for quiz bowl and I'm on a team with that boy I bumped into. I found out his name is, Noah. I try not to talk to him.
I get on the bus to go to the Third grade Quiz Bowl event. I sit next to Noah because he's on my team. We review the questions and answers as I try not to look at him and keep my distance so I don't sink in his eyes.
I look around and find Noah. We got behind so now we are lost.
"Come on, Melanie!" He says. I follow him as we pass the Quiz bowl banner
"Wait up, Noah!" I say as he passes me. He then turns around, runs back, and grabs my hand. I feel the zap of warmth again. We run until we find the room we need to be in.
"Okay, our team is about to go" he says
"I like you! Let's be friends, Best Friends," I say
"Yeah!" he replies. I smile and then we both walk in to the room as our names are called.
