Author Note: The story is based on a real life situation, in where children of all ages were forced to work in big named factories, that provide things like clothes and other useful materials. The conditions what they worked in were bad. So bad that some children died there! No one should have to go through any of this.
Some stories are sad, some stories make you mad and more make you feel bad. Life is up, down and it spins you around. As Stephanie and Lee now learn.
Outline of the story when we start:
Lee: My life is different to most normal 14 year old boys. I have to work in one of the factories on the east side of Bangladesh. It is called Cool Clothes. Because of that shop, I have inch long scars covering my legs, bruises leaving dark marks on my wrists and scratches on my face. Literally, when I arrive home late at night, I look like I have been roughed up. Saying that though, I am. The conditions of things are terrible - the food is barely edible, the water is full of brown dirt and there is no hygiene in the place at all. How have I survived with this for 14 years? I know some of my friends haven't. No child should go through this. Ever!
Stephanie: Clothes are my life. I go to the city every Saturday with my friends and we have the best time. But the last time I went, I wanted to go and buy a new top before I found out about the Bangladesh school trip. I picked up a pretty baby blue and green grass mixed top and because I was in a rush, I found it and just brought it. However, I went home and discovered it was a size too small! The worst part was that, the shop wouldn't let me return it as I tried it on. No 14 year old girl should go through the pain that I went through. I can't think of anyone who has been through worse.
