Chapter 8 - Stephanie

"Bangladesh!" Lydia screamed her speaker. I was on a Skype call with her and Katie, telling them about my very disturbing news. "Are you serious? That's like hours away from here!"

"I know." I responded. "I have to be at school at five, so we can get there on time for the annual opening."

"That's messed up." Katie stated through her speaker. Sounding gritty and annoyed at the same time. "Even for Mrs Potter. I literally can't believe she put you on that stupid trip. After all you do know about the third world stuff, but you're just worried about image which is stupid."

"Katie!" I screamed at the screen. Why would she say something like that? We were supposed to be friends.

"I'm not wrong though am I? I mean who cares about your image. There are people suffering in this world and you acting like you don't care about them makes you seem shallow and selfish." Katie explained to me. Her voice got louder and more aggressive as she did so.

"Are you calling me shallow and selfish? And if you are, at least I don't get bullied for being soft." I came back with. That will show her. I guess this showed Lydia, because she was sitting there speechless on her puffy pink bed.

"No I am not calling you that." Oh thank god I thought to myself. "But you are stupid and immature for acting like that."

"Really now?" I questioned with a fierce look on my face.

"Yes I am and for your information, yeah I get bullied, but at least I am not trying to impress anyone and making a fool of myself."

"Why are you doing this Katie?" Lydia stepped in with a calm tone in her voice. "You and Stephanie use to be great friends. Don't let something like this get in your way."

"It's too late for that, bye Lydia see you at school on Monday and Stephanie, I hope that plane crashes and you knock your head so you can get that ridiculous idea out of your mind and so you can come back to reality. Because until you do that, we aren't friends!" Katie uttered. With that, she left the group chat and removed me as her contact on Skype.

"Well that was cold." I told Lydia. Again, I could feel the water droplets flowing along my flushed cheeks. After she who shall not be named left the chat, things started to become really quiet.

"You okay Lydia? You seem a bit quiet."

"Yeah...it's just....well"

"What Lydia, you can tell me you know"

"It's just that I kind of agree with Katie about that image thing, please don't hate me." She cried through the spat on speaker.

"What, do I have any best friends at all now?"

"You have me, it's just the image is something you could improve on."

"Thanks, you're such a good 'friend'."

"Please forgive me."

"Bye Lydia."

Wow, I have no proper friends anymore. Now I think my room is going to be flooded with all the tears I am leaving behind. I collapsed on my sea blue duvet cover, hoping that my bed sheets and my comfy feathered pillows would make me feel better. Sadly, they were making me worse.

Chapter 9 - Lee

“Wake up!” The boss shouted through the cracks in the door at the top of her voice. My mum must have been already up, as she was sitting down on the wooden box next to me. “Today is your last day in this cell.”

“Really?!” I screamed through. Shocked and surprised at the same time.

“However,” The boss continued on, making my mood change as she did. “You must still be in the perimeters of the cell.”

“Why are you releasing us?” Mum asked, approaching me and then putting her scratched arm around me.

“Because all of next week, we have guests from Britain coming over to see how a ‘typical’ clothes factory is run,  and I would get into trouble if my workers are stuck in a cell while I have guests that have the power to fire me!”She screamed loudly to both of us, looking like she was hungry for our blood at the same time. It was kind of creepy to be honest with you.

I knew I was probably going to regret asking this to her but...“What will happen to us when they have left?”

The boss looked at me with quite a calm look on her pale face. She bent down on both knees to my height and glared directly into my vulnerable eyes. Then she spoke to me. “Don’t worry about that, I will tell you nearer the time. It is going to be a great surprise that you won’t forget. Trust me.” I get scared when she says ‘trust me’. (She doesn’t say it very often). “Now, I need to go and file some more paper work before our guests arrive. I expect the factory to be clean and I expect all my workers to be on their best behaviour. Bye .....” She uttered while getting up and walking towards the door.

“Lee, I don’t trust that lady and I don’t want you to. Do you understand me?” Mum asked turning her eyes to look at the shattered windows to her left.

“Yes mum, but she might have turned a corner.”

“What do you mean?” Mum asked with a slightly confused look. Actually, more than slightly.

“Well she is releasing us, and she is giving us a surprise!” I called, being what I thought was happy.

“Lee, honey stop thinking like that. She is getting through your mind. And is tricking you, and if I see you excited any more then you wouldn’t be okay with me,”

I can’t believe mum said that to me. For once in my life, I felt something. I had butterflies in my stomach that had to be released. I was happy and I didn’t want my mood to change. Freedom. For the first time in forever. I was looking forward to this.

Chapter 10 - Stephanie

Mum called me from downstairs asking me to pack for tomorrow. I really don't want to go on this school trip. This will probably be a waste of time.

Chapter 11 -Lee

I wonder what British people are like. Do they have those posh accents and have amazing lifestyles? I wish I lived like them, they are much better off than we will ever be.
