"Oh, my Notch." Petra grumbled, waking up to a clanking racket in the middle of the night.

She knew instantly what was happening. It had occurred every night since Jesse's death. Axel, Olivia and the pig couldn't sleep. So, they keep themselves busy, to keep their minds off Jesse. That included spending the whole night in the kitchen doing mindless things. Petra loathed this situation. She hated that her friends were in pain. She loved a good night's sleep.

Sure, Petra had her nights of not ever going to bed. Reflecting. Tirelessly blaming herself for Jesse's fate. But it had been weeks now, and Petra had excepted the truth. Jesse was gone. There was nothing they could do to get her back.

Petra lay back down, starring at the wood-panelled ceiling. Olivia had persuaded Petra to live in their tree-house instead of her cave for a bit. She felt a bit guilty, taking Jesse's old room, but it was at the same time a kind of therapy. The place reminded her of her friend, which threatened to make her insane with grief, but somehow she managed to not think about it.

Jesse's room still smelled like artificial blueberry crumble, ever since little Reuben had stolen and shoved Jesse's lip gloss into the cooling vent when she was a small child. The memory of Jesse laughing uncontrollably while telling that story made Petra want to laugh and cry at the same time.

At any rate, Petra found herself liking the company the company and decided to stay for a while longer. After all, Axel, Olivia and Reuben... they needed her help.

Petra had just about dozed off again when two metal pans clanged together and crashed onto the floor with a bang. An explosion of noise jolted her awake.

"And goodbye, beauty sleep." Petra sat up on the side of her bed, rubbing her eyes.

She pulled on her blue bandanna to cover her dishevelled red hair and tumbled into the kitchen to see a huge mess. Axel was scrubbing dishes, which resulted in globs of water being flung in every which way. His huge, strong arms plunged into the water, sending a tidal wave of dish water onto the counter and splatters onto Petra's face.

On the other corner of the room, Olivia connected redstone and levers to the oven that she claimed she was fixing, even though the over worked perfectly fine. Reuben just sat on the counter, bleary eyed, seemingly overseeing the whole affair.

"Sorry if we woke you up, Petra." Olivia retorted blandly, not looking up from her work. Axel merely looked up at her and gave her a delirious half-smile.

It took a minute for Petra to reply. "You guys have to stop this." Petra cried. "You're exhausting yourselves. You-You're not eating. Listen. She's... She's dead. This isn't going to bring her back."

Olivia and Axel did stop. Axel looked up from his dishes. Olivia stood up suddenly, accidentally kicking and breaking a lever circuit. The oven omitted a red poof of dust as reply.

"Petra-" Olivia started, but didn't finish. She had no good argument.

"You guys remember what Jesse told me when I was dying slowly from Wither Sickness?" Petra remembered. How could they forget? Her left arm still ached sometimes, though her Wither Sickness had long since gone away.

"She told me to keep going. Guys, we have to move on. Jesse would want us to."

Olivia stared. Both her and Axel were still silent, though they seemed hurt by Petra's remark.

Finally Olivia shut her eyes tight and side. "You're right Petra. She- she's gone."

Reuben snorted sadly in agreement.

BANG!

Petra whipped around to hear banging on the trapdoor that was the entrance to the tree-house.

"Lemme in!" Someone screamed from outside.

Petra glanced at Axel and Olivia. Drawing her sword, she hesitantly opened the trapdoor a crack and saw a wild-eyes blonde, soaking wet from the pouring rain.

"Lukas?" Olivia asked and stood up to look behind him through the trapdoor.

"Ah, great." Axel rolled his eyes.

Petra pulled him to his feet and shut the trapdoor. "Sorry if this sounds rude, but what the nether are you doing here?"

"They're trying to kill me!" Lukas said frantically. "They followed me here. I tried to shoot them, but..." Lukas produced a snapped arrow. "This is all I had."

Petra twisted her sword between her hand and the ground. "Who?"

Lukas stopped. "Aiden and his group." He explained. "He's mad. Mad that you guys became famous, that they're building a city for you. Now he's out to get our heads."

Petra felt a wave of relief flow over her. Aiden? That noob from Lukas's band of bullies? Versus her and the Order? The odds were in her favour.

"He said something about a time machine, going back in time to stop the Wither Storm." Lukas shook his head. "He's goes crazy."

"Lukas-" Petra started.

"And Gill said he wanted to cook me! They're all nuts!"

Just as Olivia was about to answer, another BANG echoed through the tree-house.

"Lukas!" Cried a familiar voice, one that Petra had forgotten long ago. "Open up!"
