-----
Himari, for once in her very short life, felt relief. Not for herself, or for her twin brother, but for her caretaker and older brother, Hitoshi. Hitoshi always tried to hide his pain from them, always hiding his terror, always lying that he wasn't hungry or tired. Himari knew Hitoshi was trying so hard to protect them from their mother and the poison of their household, but it was futile. They were raised in this household, raised by that... monster. Himari knew it was futile, but she let Hitoshi continue his protection, knowing it gave him some form of relief that he could protect his younger siblings.
Yes, she was only three years old (actually, she would be four in a few weeks), but she always knew when Hitoshi lied. She always just knew, but it seemed to never bother Hitoshi, or he actually didn't know. Either way, when Himari was listening to Hitoshi's explanation to why he brought his younger twin siblings (lying about how their mother was more dangerous than ever. It's almost that day) she couldn't help but feel the guilt build up in her stomach. Hitoshi was lying to protect her and Hayate. He was lying, risking his friends and normal school life to protect them from going into the system.
"Midnight-Sensei was supposed to watch them for the day, but she said she wouldn't be here until 4th period and I don't trust Hima-chan without supervision," Hitoshi adds, making Himari pout and cross her arms. Hitoshi playfully rolls his eyes at Himari's antics.
"I don't want to run from an angry baker again, Hima-chan," Hitoshi teases, the three year old blushing in embarrassment while she signs frantically.
"That was ONE time Hito-nii!" Himari exclaims through her hands before huffing in annoyance and turning back to face Shōta. Her second favorite hero was Hitoshi's teacher.
"C'mon Hima-chan, Yate-chan, class is about to start," Hitoshi says with a smile on his face while grabbing his younger siblings' hands and walks towards his desk. Himari buries her feelings inside, for now. Today is a good day. None of the Shinsō's noticed a black haired girl staring at them.
---
Hitoshi keeps half his attention on the lesson Present Mic was teaching the class, and the other half on his younger siblings. They were drawing and signing to each other. Hitoshi didn't bother to see what the twins were signing about, it wasn't his conversation.
His attention to the lesson and his siblings was broken when the door is opened and Nemuri walks in.
"Sorry Mic, but I'm here for two of the cutest people in the world," Nemuri says with a bright smile on her face. Himari and Hayate smile brightly as they run up to Nemuri, hugging her legs.
"Sorry I'm late, Hitoshi-chan. Was caught up with hero work. You'll see Hima-chan and Yate-kun at the end of the day. Bye!" Nemuri says quickly while leaving the room, The entire class (sans Hitoshi) surprised at the sudden appearance of the heroine. Present Mic is the first to snap out of the shock and quickly goes back to the lesson. Hitoshi sighs in relief. He can finally focus all his attention on the lesson...
Something lands on his desk.
...Or so he thought.
He looks down and picks up the paper that landed on his desk. He silently unfolds it and reads the note. Hitoshi pales.
'Himari-san and Hayate-kun are a little young to be wearing makeup. Especially concealer.
