Jeremy darted under the bed and I saw him look up at him with fear spread across his face as the door banged open

"M-Michael! Y-You're an i-idiot" She slurred as she walked into my desk cursing

"Hey c'mon Sydney" My other mum said trying to grab her arm

"I-Idiot" she mumbled and stumbled forwards and I felt a sharp slap over my face knocking me back against the wall

I heard a small gasp from Jeremy as there was a kick at my shin and I fell onto the floor with a gasp unable to stabilise myself

I felt another kick in my stomach and several kicks on my left arm and I squeezed my eyes right waiting for it to stop even though tears were falling down my face in pain

I felt her presence leave and my eyes opened to be faced with Jeremy's watering eyes

"Michael..." he whispered

The stomping excited the house out and Jeremy quickly emerged from under my bed and next to my side

"Michael I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" He said stroking my forehead

"It's okay, I'll be okay"

"Ice packs, you need ice packs right? I'll get you ice!" He said mumbling he ran out as I sighed and lifted myself onto my bed, my bones aching

I heard his footsteps run back up the stairs an ice pack in each hand

"Where do you want them?"

"Stomach and my leg" I mumbled

He placed them gently onto me and then sat beside me

"Michael I'm so sorry"

"I-It's not your fault" I said smiling up at him, his face was full of worry

"Does this happen often?"

"It only started this year she started drinking alcohol and I she become addicted" I said struggling with my words

"She's needs to get help, you know that right?" He said softly

"We can't afford it" I said as I sat up again

"I'll help you, stay at mine for abit, stay safe"

"Thank you" I said as I felt his phone vibrate against my arm

"Hello?"

"No I can't come"

"I'm with Michael"

"No, sorry"

I looked at him confused as he ended the call

"Christine was still expecting me over, even though you literally passed out earlier, I wasn't about to leave you"

I smiled at him

"Can we go to yours?" I said after a while

"Yeah, wanna pack some things together, or let me do it at least"

"No it's okay, I'll-" I winced as I tried to get up

"It's okay, let me get the usual" Jeremy said picking out what he knew to be my favourite items of clothing and some of my favourite drinks

"What else?"

"Um at the bottom of my wardrobe there's a shoebox can you get that out?"

"Yep!" He said bending down and grabbing the colourful box
