liza, alex, david, and me are all walking around hollywood boulevard trying to find good vlog content

liza is in the middle of making a pun with david, while alex is recording and i stand off to the side, when a guy comes up to us

"hey beautiful" he says

i assume he's talking to liza, so i just shrug it off

"are you too good to even look at me sweetheart?" he asks

i look over at him, curiously, to find him looking directly at me

"are you talking to me?" i ask, confused

he nods, laughing "you are so cute"

he's not a bad looking dude and it's kind of flattering that i got complimented by him, but i am in no way interested

"thank you for the compliment, but i'm not interested" i say, politely

"now come on, i know you want some of this" he says, taking a step towards me

my immediate reaction is to take a step back, feeling an arm wrap around my waist

i look up and see david, glaring at the guy with his jaw clenched

i wrap my arm around him in return, side hugging him in a way

"she told you nicely, now back off" david says in a low voice, one i've never heard before

the guy rolls his eyes, giving me one last look over, before walking the other way

as soon as he's out of sight, i wrap both arms around david, hugging him tightly as i feel tears stream down my cheeks

he hugs me in return, rubbing my back, trying to comfort me

"why does this stuff always happen to me?" i mumble, crying harder

"i don't know, y/n, i don't know" david says, in a soft whisper

a few minutes later and we're still standing there

i just can't make the tears stop

"y/n, let me carry you to the car, i don't want us standing out here any longer. it's getting late" david says, softly

"i'm too heavy" i mumble

"you're absolutely crazy" he says before reaching down to my thighs and pulling me up into his arms

i instinctively wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck, burying my head into his neck as i attempt to stop crying

i manage to, now just sniffling here and there

"alex, you have my vlog camera, right?" david asks

"yeah, i turned it off after you told him off"

david nods before glancing down at me "don't worry, i'll delete it"

"no, i want it in"

"y/n-" liza starts

i see alex turning the camera on, pointing it at me

i pretend to ignore it, looking at liza

"i want everyone to learn from it. i want girls to realize that it isn't safe to walk alone at night and for boys to realize that after a girl says no, you need to back off, not continue. and no matter whether you are a girl or boy, if you are walking somewhere, even in plain daylight, always have friends that can stick up for you and keep you safe because there are some sick and twisted people out there and that clip it was only a glimpse of what goes on in the real world."

liza nods as alex smiles, turning the camera off again

"that's going in the vlog" i whisper to david

he stops walking, looking down at me with an unreadable expression on his face

"you surprise me everyday, y/n"

i smile, lifting my head up slightly to place a soft kiss against his cheek

"right back at you, davie"

he blushes as liza and alex burst out laughing

"shut up" he whines, continuing to walk towards his car, carrying me

alex turns the camera back on, pointing it as david and me

"why are you still carrying her?" alex asks, wiggling his eyebrows

both of our faces turn red as david speed walks to his car, setting me on the ground before opening the passenger door for me

i smile widely, thanking him before getting in

liza and alex hopping in the back

i lay on my bed, playing with david's curly and untamed hair, neither of us really tired yet

"are you okay now? honestly"

i nod, but realize he can't see it "yeah, i'm okay. it just freaks me out that it was one day after another"

"it is pretty freaky, but you're safe now"

"but i was safe today when that guy came up to me"

he turns his head, looking up at me "how so? he was coming onto you and- ugh"

i smile softly "i was safe because you were there and i know you'd never let anything happen to me. therefore, i'm always safe when i'm with you"

he smiles widely "i'm glad you feel that way because it is true"

i giggle, continuing to run my fingers through his hair "i know it is"

he blushes, turning the other way, trying to hide his rosy cheeks

i smile to myself, cherishing this moment
