it's been three days since paige gave birth to her baby max milo peck

she was finally released from the hospital and came home yesterday

today, david and i are heading over to their house to see the baby

"can we go now?" david asks for the hundredth time

i laugh, pushing his hair out of his face

"dave, i told them we would be there at one. it's only twelve"

"but it's close enough" he pouts

i smile, kissing his cheek "not close enough"

he frowns

i giggle, kissing his lips

it's exactly one o'clock when we knock on the door

josh opens the door, immediately pulling the both of us into hugs

"come in, family"

i laugh along with them as we walk over to the couch where paige is holding the small, sleeping baby in her arms

she looks up, beaming at us

"hi guys, who wants to hold him first?"

david's hand shoots up, making me smile

he sits on the couch as paige carefully sets the baby in his arms

he looks down at the little boy with the biggest smile on his face

i sneakily pull out my phone, snapping a few pictures, wanting to capture this

because it was in that moment of david holding that small baby in his arms, that i knew i wanted to marry him and have a future with adorable little babies that we create ourselves

i slip my phone back in my pocket, without anyone noticing

i sit next to david, leaning over to place a kiss to his cheek before resting my head on his shoulder, looking down at max

after a while, david asks "do you want to hold him?"

i nod, sitting up, opening my arms

paige takes him out of david's arms, carefully setting him in my arms

i feel happy, looking down at the small boy in my arms, with a smile on my face

he's just so innocent and adorable

i want him to have everything that he wants

and i would do anything for him, just to make him happy

a few moments later, he stirs in my arms, crying

i feel david panic next to me

i stay calm, slowly rocking him back and forth until he calms down, looking up at me with big eyes
