Miles POV:
I had never done so much work in my entire life. They had me in the kitchen washing plates, and sometimes I had to carry them to customers.
If Olivia could have seen me now, actually doing work.Or maybe she wouldn't even care. I didn't even know. Her breaking up with me was such a curveball. I was starting to question everything.
I looked over at Lola taking orders. She was clearly a much better server then I was. I was pretty awful carrying the plates, despite my huge hands. Overall, I enjoyed it tho. Maybe I could do this for the rest of my life.
I really was lost. She eventually came up to me after, my phone and a couple notes in her hand.
"I know you aren't doing this for the money but we have the legal responsibility to pay you for your shift.""I don't want it. You keep it." I shook my head and took only my phone. "It truly wasn't about the money."
"Um...can't say I've heard of someone refusing their wages before but okay, I'll put it in the tips jar." She laughed at me unsurely sliding the notes in.
I nodded not participating in her joking attitude.
"Hey are you okay?" She asked.
